Depending on the qualifications of the selectee, this may either be a short-term employment detail (STED) with no change in salary or a short-term employment promotion (STEP) depending on the qualifications of the selectee.Duties include, but are not limited to the following:Develops original material and edits documents.Writes and edits technical materials.Analyzes and administers editorial production process.WHO IS ELIGIBLEPermanent, full-time

employees from any division within the Library

in good standing with at least a satisfactory/successful performance rating that

meet the minimum qualifications . Temporary and indefinite employees are not eligible.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

If you are interested in applying for this job, please make sure you meet the following requirements as listed below.Must be at grade (9/11/12) to be eligible for a detail.Must have at least one year at the lower GS-grade (7/8/9/10/11) to be eligible for a temporary promotion to the next higher grade.Must be one year since last temporary promotion.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSAbility to communicate effectively in writing for both print and web products.Ability to follow the basic rules of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style for print and non-print materials.Ability to tailor the tone, level of diction, form, depth, and level of detail as well as the content of the information to the context and needs of an audience.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree (or graduate degree) in English writing or related degree.Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONThis is a STED/STEP opportunity with no expectation of permanent placement. The work schedule is Flexitime or Complex, Monday through Friday. The term of this opportunity is expected to be

approximately October 6, 2024, through January 25, 2025.
