Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced

Automotive Accessories Designer or Product Designer

to join our growing team for a 6-month contract assignment.

What you get to do:

The Automotive Accessories Designer or Product Designer

will help to design and develop the broad and detailed appearance for the exterior of our vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams to deliver excellence through Exterior Automotive Architecture, Body, and Component Design. They will assist the design team in creating and defining the visual appeal of Slate products. The ideal candidate will be proficient at creating unique and compelling designs that propel the brand forward blending functional innovation with aesthetic appeal.

The responsibilities of the

Automotive Accessories Designer or Product Designer

include but are not limited to the following:Design and create a wide variety of Accessory proposals based on project definitions and requests from individual stakeholders, including Sketches, Digital Models, Visual Illustrations, prototypes, animations, etc.Visual design of Component and customization systems, products, services, and API - responsive or adaptive for Aftermarket StrategiesCreate research-driven, data-informed designs that meet users' needs and their motivations.Performs closed-loop validation of Accessory Products with Product development teams and key partners.Visually define ideas, design decisions, and appearance recommendations to senior level stakeholdersBuild relationships with internal design team members and key stakeholders, such as Brand, Commercial, Engineering and Manufacturing teams.Utilize software skills in latest versions of Automotive Design and 2D/3D development tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite / Alias, Blender, etc.What you bring to the team:

Bachelor's degree in automotive or industrial Design, or comparable degree5 years professional work experience, as an automotive designer, Industrial designer, or similar transportation and vehicle related roleAn excellent command of visual communication and evaluation along with a thorough knowledge of 2d illustration and 3d development tools is a mustAbility to write verbal descriptions of automotive designFamiliarity of rapid prototyping tools (i.e., Milling, 3d printing etc.)Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, related to vehicle design.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skillsProficient in both writing and speaking the English languageThe experience of having delivers at least one significant Automotive production ProgramPreferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in automotive or industrial Design.Ability to generate 3D digital sketch models via Alias or BlenderPortfolio and or online body of work is a strong plusExperience in automotive, or consumer products industries in the capacity of design or ergonomic related fieldsExperience working within an agile development processProficient in various design disciplines. (Photography, Visual Design, Information Architecture, Content Strategy, Interaction Design, Usability, User Research, Product Design
