Client Overview:
Our client is an iconic fashion brand creating the latest footwear. With their innovative, on-trend, and creative designs they are industry leaders in the footwear space.
Designer Overview:
We are seeking an experienced designer for our athletic footwear division, for a very well known brand.The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the relative market, an eye for identifying trends and be able to create new concepts . This individual will collaborate with internal team members,management in identifying trends, designing concepts and products for the brand across all genders, and working with development teams in Asia to see concepts through final samples.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with other teams internally to organize & keep track of samples
• Shop the market for trends- inside and outside NY market
• Research concepts, create sketches, prototypes and artwork throughout the concept development phase• Travel to China to collaborate with key sourcing partners and execute samples• Produce refined color renderings (CADS) in Illustrator for internal line reviews and sales presentations• Enter specs into PLM
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Fashion, Design or related area
• Experience with Mass Markets in the footwear industry
• Understanding of customer preferences on fashion and style trends
• Strong sketching skills, color sense, and fabric knowledge
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel
