Project Overview:

Bechtel is designing, constructing, and commissioning the world's largest radioactive waste treatment plant for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington state. The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant will use vitrification technology to process and solidify 56 million gallons (210 million liters) of radioactive and chemical waste stored at the Hanford site, which is a byproduct of plutonium production during World War II and the Cold War era. The project is the largest undertaking of its kind and one of DOE's most technically challenging cleanup projects. Its construction spans 65 acres (26 hectares) with four major nuclear facilities - Pretreatment, Low-Activity Waste Vitrification, High-Level Waste Vitrification and Analytical Laboratory - as well as operations and maintenance buildings, utilities, other support facilities. The Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) is a limited liability corporation created by Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) and AECOM. WTCC is a subcontractor to BNI, the prime contractor, to deliver the construction, turnover, startup, and commissioning activities for the WTP project. This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Selected applicant needs to be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Job Summary:

Supporting the development, review, approval, and issuance of Safety and Health related documents developed by Safety and Health organization, working with the subject matter experts, process owners, and experienced personnel Communicating with WTP Project personnel in other organizations to obtain deliverables associated with Safety and Health documents and facilitate resolution of identified issues Coordinating meetings, preparing and distributing notices, agendas, information packets, and minutes for program document review meetings Authoring non-technical program documents Creating reports from the requirements management system and ensuring requirements are appropriately referenced in implementing documents Assisting Safety and Health requirement area managers and subject matter experts with evaluation of requirement applicability and impact to WTP Facilitating requirements allocation and sub-allocation to and from the appropriate Safety and Health requirement areas Performing gap analyses between different versions of Safety and Health requirements Training and mentoring Safety and Health requirement area managers and subject matter experts on the use of the requirements management program Maintaining Safety and Health requirements using IBM Rational DOORS software. Performing Safety and Health performance trending and self-assessments and providing support for assessment activities Administering the Safety and Health organization's document review process and consolidating comments from technical reviewers Preparing Safety and Health program documents for review and for submission to PADC in accordance with WTP Project requirements Performing quality checks of safety and health program documents Assisting with information entry into Safety and Health/Department of Energy/WTP Project databases Serving as a backup for Safety Programs data entry/analysis activities Track assessment completion for the entire S&H organization and assist in assessment planning/completion. Maintain all S&H organization web pages. Assist line management in updating EJTAs and creating new EJTAs, route EJTAs through the approval process. Route and track dispositions of recordability through the approval process. Performing duties as assigned by direct supervision This position shall be performed under the day-to-day supervision of the WTCC Safety and Health Programs Manager. #LI-EH1

Major Responsibilities:

Level 1:

* Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.* Ability to plan and coordinate tasks, work autonomously and complete work productively with attention to detail. Excellent written and oral communication skills.* Excellent organizational skills Effective interpersonal skills in communication with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.* Technical writing and editing skills normally acquired through specialized education/training in English, technical communications, or journalism.* Proficiency with standard document formatting/editing/production software, including electronic comment incorporation, importing graphic files, formatting tables, and developing and applying templates.* Online editing/proofreading skills. Technical vocabularies and terminology common to the assignment. Must be able to perform multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

Level 2:

* In addition to the skills listed in level 1.* Interprets safety and health requirements and provides guidance on related tasks for program execution.* Researches issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1:

* Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and less than 1 year of relevant experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience

Level 2:

* Requires Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to occupational safety or health and 1-2 years of relevant experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, researching, writing, editing, and formatting documents.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship. Knowledge of Bechtel's Zero Accident Safety Program and familiar with current industry standards.* Ability to work in a team-based environment, knowledge of project specific requirements, general awareness of processes and procedures and familiarity with current industry quality standards.* Ability to independently anticipate problems in an environment of rapidly changing priorities.* Understanding of operation of Bechtel standard computerized systems and other information transmission and records applications.* Continually demonstrates sustained commitment to Bechtel's "Zero Accidents" policy and support for Bechtel's safety program through personal safe behavior/work practices, following all safety rules and procedures and reporting unsafe work practices/situations.* Positive attitude and dedicated on-time work schedule Experience using relational databases and data analysis software (e.g., IBM Rational DOORS, PowerBi). #LI-KB1
