Chanel is looking for a Senior Group Director, Fashion Media to join our Brand Communications team in NYC. The Senior Group Director, Fashion Media is a pivotal leader within the Brand Communication team. As a strategic business partner to the Fashion Division, this role is responsible for driving the strategy and daily operations of paid media, ensuring a cohesive and complimentary brand communications approach that drives performance evolution and long-term brand image protection.

This role will also guide the development of thought leadership topics and trend analysis and oversee measurement and reporting to drive the constant evolution of CHANEL’s paid media approach, reflecting consumer behavior and the rapidly evolving 360 communication landscape. This role will have a propensity for innovation and creativity and utilize key insights and analysis to ensure key business priorities are met.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

Fashion Paid Media Plans:

You will oversee the development and execution of paid media plans in support of the business objectives for Fashion Division in close collaboration with PR colleagues to ensure an integrated, holistic Paid/Owned/Earned (POE) media approach.

You will be responsible for management of the US budget for paid media for Fashion Division, ensuring accurate management, reporting, and reconciliation.

You will oversee KPI management, reporting, and analytics for Fashion media plans to demonstrate impact, assess key learnings, identify best practices, and track progress towards business goals; continuously integrating measurement and reporting key takeaways into paid/earned media plans and Brand Comms strategies.

Cross-Divisional Thought Leadership

You will partner closely with Divisional Brand Communication Heads and other key business stakeholders to identify key challenges and surface subjects to be explored on a cross-divisional basis.

Cross-Divisional Media Agency/Partner Management & Negotiation

You will utilize your expertise to provide support and guidance on interpretation of Global Corporate media guidelines.

You will proactively identify key strategic subjects and brief, manage, and edit agency work for distribution internally; provide recommendations to both local and global audiences to ensure media plans are continuously refined to best capitalize on the evolving media landscape.

Key Relationships & Interactions

You will be a strong collaborator with key functions/teams including Fashion Division, Global Corporate and Fashion Media, Divisional Brand Comms counterparts, Media Agencies, PR/Events, Digital, Legal, People & Org, and Finance.

You will utilize your drive and curiosity to develop and maintain relationships with publishing leads at long-standing and emerging key industry partners.

Team Management and Development

You will oversee your own team and collaborate with Brand Communication colleagues and People & Organization (HR) to ensure an employee-centered approach to work, corporate culture, and talent development and retention.

You will regularly exhibit and encourage a deep curiosity about the wider media landscape, luxury retail, and corporate communications space, advocating for innovation by identifying relevant opportunities for CHANEL.

Experience with a full range of media channels, including but not limited to TV/Video, Outdoor, Print, Display, Mobile, Audio, Social and Search.

Position Logistics:

Minimum 8 years media management experience, ideally with luxury and/or best-in-class brands, resulting in deep knowledge of media industry; culture, social issues, or charitable organization experience a plus.

4-year undergraduate degree.

Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office.

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $172,600 - $200,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay may/will be offered for this position. Other components may/will include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
