The Mechanical Systems Design Lead will be responsible for mechanical system and component designs and will work with other design, manufacturing and program teams to provide leadership both at the high level in design direction and deep in the engineering implementation. This person is both a leader and a doer.Responsibilities:

Act as technical lead for the mechanical design of Peak’s HV ESS from early architecture through continuous improvementDefine product design direction by meticulously exploring broadly and deeply, while trading and communicating design decisionsDefine and spearhead selection and development of tools, infrastructure and design practices for a growing teamManage the ESS BOMDevelop and manage system and component requirementsInterface tightly with partners such as thermal and structural analysts and other design functions to inform design decisionsPlay a key role in developing and managing Peak’s mechanical and thermal component sourcing strategy, balancing short and long term goalsDrive and participate in a culture of rapid protoyping and testingSupport validation of Peak productsEnsure a smooth transition from maturing product to production-readySpearhead growth of the mechanical design team and mentor more junior members in the greater organizationA great team spirit and get-it-done attitude. Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field10+ years of experience working with HV systemsStrong structural and thermal engineering fundamentalsExtensive use of commercial CAD and PLM softwareFamiliarity with FEA/CFD and other common CAE practicesFamiliarity with high voltage battery system or power electronics designExperience with design and manufacturing of medium to high volume productsHands on prototyping, validation and testing experienceEligible to work in the U.S.Preferred Qualifications:
