You are a self-starting, multitasking team player who can also assume individual responsibility for issues as they arise. You have excellent news judgment and are fluent in social media. You want to work for one of the world’s leading creators of content with some of the world’s best editorial photographers and videographers.Picture Desk editors are trusted decision-makers, problem-solvers, and the final gatekeepers of editorial integrity. They are responsible for receiving and editing editorial content for the global market under constant deadlines while ensuring accuracy, editorial integrity, quality, and timely distribution. As the centralized hub for various departments, the Picture Desk collaborates daily with photographers, assignment editors, field editors, and tech teams to maintain a high standard of quality. Editors curate and highlight our top images on social media, marketing platforms, and the GettyImages.com website. This is a production-focused job, and working nights until midnight Pacific Time, weekends, and holidays is required.

Accurately and quickly review and edit images to meet Getty Images guidelines with a commitment to editorial integrity; assign ranking and routing information to designate where an image is deliveredPrioritize tasks according to relevancy and deadlines in collaboration with a global editing teamExercise solid news judgment; maintain a high level of journalistic knowledge and awareness of current and trending global news, sports, and entertainment eventsMaintain a regularly updated GettyImages.com homepage with CMS programs to showcase featured storiesMonitor stories trending in real-time and engage with appropriate imagery on Getty Images’ marketing and social media platformsAssist with paid assignment events using internal digital asset management toolsTroubleshoot and report technology issues both externally with photographers and clients and any internal supportWhat You'll Need:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the editorial photography industryExtensive knowledge and interest in current affairs, including celebrity, popular culture, news and sportProficiency in Windows or Mac OS-based systems and applicationsExperience with industry-standard editing tools, Adobe Photoshop, and Digital asset management (DAM) softwareDemonstrated knowledge of industry-style captioning and IPTC metadata standards, excellent journalistic writing, and copy-editing skillsExcellent English writing, spelling, and grammar skillsSolid picture judgment with a commitment to editorial integrityAbility to engage with appropriate imagery on Getty Images’ social media handlesStrong understanding of photo usage rights and licensesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment accurately and efficiently with high-pressure breaking news situations while maintaining thorough attention to detailExcellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a remote team environmentAbility and desire to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including weekends, nights & holidaysExperience with Adobe Premiere or video editing tools a plusWhat You Can Expect (Mental and Physical Demands & Requirements):

$28.08 - $34 an hourThe starting salary range for this position at the time of posting is USD $28.08 per hour to 34.00 per hour. Getty Images has different ranges in different locations within the US, and this range represents the starting base pay range. Actual compensation will depend on factors including but not limited to: qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, certification, business needs, performance, and level of responsibility along with the requirements of the position.
