Our ideal candidate is a design manager who can work independently on a distributed, virtual-first team. This role sits within a UX team made up of product designers and UX researchers, mostly based in Austin, TX and Barcelona, Spain. This UX team supports 4 products, each with a distinct brand, within the Gartner Digital Markets business unit. You would lead user experience for a portfolio of products and features. In your day-to-day, you’ll coordinate work alongside product-trios. Trios are made up of: a product manager, engineering, and UX design. These trios ensure the right problems are identified to meet business goals and user needs. You’ll support the designers in these trios as their goals in the form of quarterly OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to craft a path to success. Your leadership and guidance to designers will help ensure their trios are connecting with each other, and partner teams, such as research, analytics, SEO, and marketing to make data informed decisions. Within the UX team, you will influence and shape our team culture, product design reviews, and how designers level up within the discipline.Why you’ll want to come to work:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards, industry trends, emerging platforms, and design/UX best practices and be able to train and mentor others in these areas.Create wireframes, prototypes, contextual analysis, and other design artifacts.Understand and be able to guide designers on how and when to utilize low, medium, and high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes, and mockups.Strong understanding of and ability to incorporate accessibility into your work, including 508 compliance and WCAG 2.1 AA.Provide meaningful and actionable feedback on the work of product designers.Manage the design team's capacity and resources to ensure efficient and effective product design processes.Mentor and guide product designers, helping them to progress on their skills, knowledge, and capabilities to level up and grow in their careers.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as product management, engineering, and user research, to ensure that design solutions are feasible and meet user needs.Work with the Buyer Experience Design Leadership team to set the direction of user experience at Gartner Digital Markets.Understand and be an advocate for user-centered design processes.Design how our products work, not just how it looks.Analyze and incorporate quantitative data and qualitative insights into design.What you’ll bring to the team:

2+ years of experience managing small product design teams in an international context.5+ years of experience with industry-leading tools, such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, and Adobe Suite, etc.5+ years of experience in digital product design, user experience, information architecture, interaction design, and/or visual design.Have a strong and demonstrated understanding of visual design, information hierarchy, typography and color theory.Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.What you’ll receive:

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 92,000 USD - 130,500 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
