Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.The Arlo Hardware team is seeking an Image Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in testing cameras, tuning Image Quality, and working with third parties to improve IQ. They are self-starters, resourceful, and able to problem-solve independently or collaboratively with others. They are passionate about hardware products and will also be involved on a part-time basis in other product aspects such as audio.Responsibilities include:

Hands-on IQ testing of Arlo products:

Lab testing, creating test reportsField testing, reporting issues and bugsWork with third parties such as Image Processor and Image Sensor vendors to improve both lab and field performance, solve issuesWork with internal Arlo teams such as Optics and Firmware to solve issues

Hands-on Audio testing of Arlo products:

Lab audio testing using audio test equipment and Python scripting, create test reports for Audio ManagerModify Python scripts as needed.

Depending on project loading and timing, tasks can involve other aspects of product testing.Desired Qualifications:

At least 5 years of Product Image Quality testing experience on R&D side. Consumer product experience strongly desired.Experience working with third parties such as ISP vendors, sensor vendors, ODMs to tune image quality.Familiarity with signal and image processing technologies, such as de-noising, sharpening, tone mapping, etc. ISP algorithms and designs, auto-white balance, auto-exposure, and auto-focus algorithms. Image quality evaluation tools (e.g. IMATEST), usage of camera tuning equipment.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, or related, preferred.Proficient with Python scripting.Proficient with bug reporting tools such as Jira or similar.Experience with testing audio products in lab environment.Proficient at data reporting, document writing, technical analysis.Arlo is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits.
