Product Designer

to join our team. This role will partner with our product teams and clients to solve complex design problems and put strategies in place to deliver best-in-class web and mobile solutions. Our product designers are highly strategic, detailed oriented and have a deep understanding of visual design, user experience, interface design, branding and strong fundamentals in leadership, user research and product strategy.At Crema, we craft our product teams to solve hard problems – client problems and business problems – in ways that our clients and their customers love, yet work for their business. Our product teams are cross-functional and resilient, generally comprised of a product manager, a product designer, a test engineer, and several developers.While we have an office in Kansas City, we are a “Work from Anywhere” company. For the Product Designer role, we are seeking an individual able to work in a hybrid capacity, dividing the week between remote and in-office work in our Kansas City office.What you'll do:Your primary focus will be working in a product team to design web and mobile applications for our clients. You are expected to drive the entire design process from ideation to implementation, providing elegant and meaningful experiences. We primarily use Figma, and we expect you have reached expert level in that design tool or a similar one. You’ll work with other product designers, product managers, test engineers, developers, and directly with the client team. You’ll partner with the client, and lead them in the process in a way that your design solutions meets and exceeds their business goals.RequirementsAbout YouYou should have extensive product design experience, specifically with shipped mobile and web applications. This is reflected in an outstanding design portfolio of real work experiences that showcases established expertise in multiple design disciplines. Your work showcases the highest level of craft and execution, a passion for user-centered design, and a desire to build accessible products for all with high levels of user adoption. You can negotiate and articulate the why behind your design decisions and are always striving to understand real users motivations and business goals. You can design well within a range of constraints—from unknown to very restrictive, business to technical, and stable to shifting.We believe in continuous feedback at Crema—you must be open to giving and receiving feedback—and you’ll receive some training when you join the team. A teachable spirit is important. As a designer is extremely important you can negotiate and articulate the why of your design decisions, and are always excited to receive feedback on iterative design work and implement a path forward accordinglyWe are looking for someone that thrives in an asynchronous setting and can balance intentional collaboration and communication with the ability to be self-driven and work independently.Hiring ProcessWe’re intentional with our hiring process because we want to find the right candidate for the role! They will take this time to understand your skills and experience. Be prepared to discuss a piece of your portfolio as well.Interview with team members—we’re a very collaborative company, and we want the team you’ll be working with to have a chance to get to know you more and how they may work with you. You’ll be meeting with Pamela Porto (Craft Director), and members of a product team for an hour-long interview.Decision—after the team members deliberate, the Craft Director will inform you of the final decision. Our salary benchmark is based on companies with 51 to 250 employees, within the software industry, using the target percentile of 50% of market data. This data comes from a third-party service, and we use this data for everyone, no matter where you live in the US.
