ACHP seeks a Manager of Digital Communications to join our dynamic team dedicated to transforming the healthcare industry and advancing nonprofit, community-based plans.The Manager, Digital Communications, serves a critical role in using available tools to achieve ACHP’s communications goals. Through strategic planning, storytelling and narrative development, the successful candidate will use ACHP’s social media channels as well as video and audio tools to amplify ACHP’s positions. Your goal is to differentiate ACHP and its member companies as leading voices in health care policy, emphasizing their focus on higher quality and affordability. A love of crisp, engaging communication is a must.Are you a social media “guru” with a passion for health care policy? Candidates with a strong interest in health care policy, research, and data are encouraged to apply. Communication is central to ACHP’s advocacy efforts, so policy “wonks” with solid communication skills are welcome. The role involves creatively distilling complex information for diverse audiences, including member companies, advocates, consultants and other stakeholders, all while maintaining ACHP’s established voice. Strong judgment in daily operations and crisis scenarios is essential, along with a deep understanding of political, policy and media landscapes, potentially including Capitol Hill experience. Bonus points for those who can convey complex policy positions with a healthy dose of creative flair or wit.The Manager, Digital Communications, will think multidimensionally about raising ACHP’s profile and the political, policy and clinical issues on which we focus and will possess excellent and compelling writing skills. Organization is key for this position, as the successful candidate will be a detail-oriented project manager who can direct processes and workflow and ensure accountability across departments. The position affords excellent growth opportunities for energetic, collaborative communicators with a passion for improving the US health system.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital content strategy, creation and distribution (50%)Lead the planning, creation and evaluation of social media, video and audio/podcast content that support and enhance ACHP’s key priorities. Publish a monthly report.In partnership with ACHP’s Communications Director and external consultants, develop digital campaigns that amplify and differentiate ACHP and its member companies, especially on social media and search channels.Partner with ACHP’s Communications Manager to identify communications opportunities in real-time based on news events or media coverage.With an eye toward fresh, creative engagement, oversee the ACHP website, including content curation, search engine optimization, navigation and a superior user experience.Serve as the internal subject matter expert sharing best practices and guidance on how to amplify and support ACHP’s digital efforts.Collateral design (25%)In partnership with the rest of the communications department, co-create and deploy multi-disciplinary content promoting ACHP’s initiatives and goals and those of its members, such as infographics, fact sheets, blogs, and e-newsletters.Maintain and update the corporate image library, including but not limited to logos, photography, videos, illustrations, stock photography, and brand artwork.Support ACHP’s email program, including the development of email templates, list management, engagement tracking and software integration.Member and Stakeholder Engagement (25%)With ACHP colleagues, engage members through regular communications programming, online ACHP community/forum and regular outreach.Partner with the Events & Business Development manager to ensure sponsors and corporate partners receive timely and routine recognition and visibility.Manage relationships with outside vendors, including media monitoring and digital tracking services, web developers, graphic designers and videographers.Other duties as assigned.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

RequiredBachelors’ Degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related field;Minimum 3 years of communications experience in complex areas, either an agency, political campaign or advocacy setting; health care, policy and/or nonprofit communications experience preferredExcellent and persuasive writing skillsAbility to work closely and collaboratively across departmentsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with sometimes competing deadlinesAn eagerness to learn, a desire to find solutions to challenges, and a “can-do” team spiritA sincere interest in, and commitment to, ACHP’s mission and valuesSkilled in Microsoft Office suite of products, and social media channels including Twitter and LinkedInPreferredDemonstrated knowledge of WordPress, as well as social analytics tracking and measurementExperience working on/around Capitol HillFamiliarity with MailChimp and Sprout SocialExperience producing podcasts, short videos, animated graphicsWORKING CONDITIONSWork is in an office environment, with remote flexibilityHybrid office position/must be located in the DMV areaSome travelSALARY AND BENEFITSThis is a salaried position in the range of $65,000-$80,000.
