The Director, Global Marketing Operations will handle several principal duties, all focused on making time, information, and decision processes more effective in order to improve marketing's performance in the pursuit of driving sales growth, customer retention and employee engagement. This role will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and will serve as sort of an operations and performance scientist for the Global Marketing leadership team (MLT).This role will assist the CMO with thinking through and setting strategies, initiatives, policies and processes -ensuring they are implemented. In addition to leading ongoing business rhythms, this individual should expect to serve as a "swiss army knife" for marketing; jumping in to lead key, fast-turn initiatives and coordinate virtual teams at the direction of the CMO to professionalize the marketing organization and deliver meaningful business outcomes. As an experienced marketer and analyst, this role will drive the incubation of specialized, strategic projects to help the organization respond to innovation opportunities that will create a multiplier effect where capacity is otherwise strained in the organization.They should anticipate problems and be especially sensitive to issues that require diplomacy. This role will work cross functionally within marketing and the broader WEX organization so humility, maturity, and situational sensitivity are required. This role should help the MLT achieve sharp gains in productivity, impact and team culture, and will be measured on metrics including but not limited to: strategic initiative performance, expense efficiency ratio, forecast accuracy, team productivity, growth experimentation efficacy, ROB performance, employee engagement, metric modernization, etc.Role Summary & ResponsibilitiesPartner with CMO & leadership team to ensure we have a compelling and focused strategy to ladder up WEX's overall vision and priorities; including orchestrating strategic planning operations and compiling performance updates

Have a direct line of sight across the organization highlighting key metrics, goal execution and organizational health, financial targets, talent development, customer satisfaction, market presence & competitor analysis and innovation agenda

Ensure that the Chief Marketing Officer is always prepared and rarely surprised; while providing guidance to the Global marketing leadership team using best-in-class knowledge of strategy, business insights and personnel development

Build and automate the global marketing scorecard and hold teams across marketing accountable for regular reporting, reporting accuracy; insights, action plans, and modernization of marketing metrics to reflect changing market dynamics

Drive and incubate select one-time analytics and/or marketing intelligence projects to build critical; scalable models and capabilities to improve marketing performance

Drive leadership team to build, deliver and report on select horizontal initiatives that enable the marketing team to adapt to internal and/or market dynamics

Oversees the Global Marketing organization's "test and learn" strategy and supporting governance, reporting and communication

Drive the full marketing ROB (rhythm of business) for the organization (all hands, monthly business reviews, MLT weekly meetings, offsite planning meetings); including ensuring MLT leads complete all CMO assigned actions

Support the CMO in the preparation of reports, managing large scale deadlines; creating presentation content; and also driving complex meeting effectiveness

Support the CMO in partnering with Finance to manage and maintain the annual Global Marketing organization budget

Drive marketing capital forecasting process; partner with finance to deliver an ongoing view of marketing expense performance to give a true view of blended marketing ROI and expense efficiency ratio improvement; advise on action plans

Drive marketing employee engagement framework; analyzing trends and driving improvement plans across the team; plan key training events and other culture-enhancing activities

Acts as representative of the CMO to executives and employees as requested

Experience you'll bring10-15 years years of professional marketing experience

10-15 years of Marketing Effectiveness, Analytics and ROI tracking experience essential

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field

MBA strongly preferred

Proven track record of delivering on complex initiatives working across multiple global teams and stakeholders, including facilitating alignment with roadmaps and teams

Strong financial acumen Advanced user of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and skilled at financial modeling / data analytic

Strong expertise driving operational projects and high performing teams; adept project manager capable of juggling multiple projects and timelines

Experience with project management tools such as Asana, SmartSheets, Monday.com, etc.

Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker Studio, etc.; and marketing modeling capabilities and associated tools (ex. marketing multi-touch attribution

Experience working for a highly matrixed B2B organization

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
