Position Purpose We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our nature center team. This role plays a key part in the nature center's communications effort to connect with our community, create a sense of belonging, and use community insights to drive programming strategy

Please Note: This is a variable-hour, non-benefited position. Scheduled to work 10 hours/week Essential Functions / Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Essential Job Functions:

Assist with the development of content for weekly internal newsletter, monthly volunteer newsletters, and bimonthly to the broader community Create engaging and shareable content for the website, newsletters, press releases, ads, and social media Create and design promotional materials such as flyers, invitations, postcards, etc. for marketing and public relation campaigns Monitor and report on community KPIs, such as web traffic, attendance and social media data Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community events and engagement campaigns Create and design campaign materials such as flyers, invitations, postcards, etc. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong writing and editing skills Knowledge of graphic design principles Knowledge of social media trends and best practices Understanding of naturalist interpretation standards Must demonstrate strong organizational, time management, and project management skills; must be able to meet deadlines Qualifications - Working Environment / Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 1-year experience working in environmental community-building, communications, or marketing PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in related field

Nonprofit or municipal experience preferred
