This position will support Men's Shirts.

As a Designer you will be working with all facets of design development for assigned categories alongside the fun and highly talented Design team. You will be doing market research to understand our customers, sketching, working on fabric, print and trim development, collaborating with our tech team during fittings and communicating daily with our Production and Merchandising teams.

Key Responsibilities

Autonomously design and innovate within assigned categories, contributing to overall product strategies.

Collaborate with leadership to align design initiatives with broader company goals and long-term strategies.

Conduct market research to understand customer needs and translate them into viable product ideas.

Stay current on industry trends and present insights to cross-functional teams.

Confidently present designs in meetings and lead discussions on product details with merchandising, production, and technical design teams.

Build and manage product development timelines, aligning with company objectives.

Design complete product lines, focusing on fabric, pattern, trim, color, and print while meeting cost targets.

Strong knowledge of print and pattern trends – the ability to drive the creation of pattern assortment in partnership with a CAD Designer.

Create detailed tech packs and maintain a deep understanding of fabric finishes, trim, and garment construction.

Participate in fittings, updating tech packs and sketches based on feedback.

Source and approve fabrics, trims, and other materials, ensuring they meet design and cost requirements.

Mentor Assistant and Associate Designers and contribute to the development of team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Travel seasonally to corporate office for milestone meetings

Required Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design.

5+ years of design experience, robust design aesthetic, and a proven track record of creating innovative and relevant designs.

Proficient in using industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM/ PDM systems, etc.)

Solid understanding of garment construction, fabric construction, and design processes

Eye for “Express” brand. Excellent design and sketching skills. Strong fashion and creative ability. Keen trend awareness.

Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple tasks.

Strong project management skills, including meeting deadlines and handling multiple priorities.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Sense of accountability and strong work ethic.

Punctuality & dependable attendance.

Actual compensation offered is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, work location, education, relevant skills and experience of the candidate.

Salary Range
