Job Description

The US Commercial Precision Medicine and Diagnostics (PM&Dx) team is responsible for providing franchise-level marketing support on companion diagnostics and biomarker functions, executing companion diagnostics tactics in the field, and contributing to product development in the diagnostics space for pipeline assets. This group works collaboratively with other teams to contribute to the development of brand plans and works alongside AbbVie internal and external partners to develop CDx strategies and execute Precision Medicine and Diagnostic marketing tactics.

The Marketing Manager, Oncology Precision Medicine and Diagnostics, ELAHERE will provide marketing support on companion diagnostics and biomarker functions, working closely with the brand team and portfolio Oncology Diagnostic Liaison (ODL) field team. This individual will be responsible for developing diagnostic strategy with the other members of Commercial Oncology Precision Medicine & Diagnostics team and executing on the tactical plan with other internal and external teams (ODLs, Strategic Account Managers (SAMs), Oncology Specialists (OS), and diagnostic partners), with the ultimate goal of promoting education on companion diagnostic testing, developing new business relationships with pathology, and supporting test availability and test quality to ensure accurate and timely identification of appropriate patients for therapy. The Marketing Manager (MM) does not have direct reports but must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority, work with ambiguity, and build a collaborative and integrated commercial team.

Major Responsibilities

Develop and implement effective marketing tactics and materials for the portfolio ODL field team focused on biomarker education and optimal operationalization of testing in support of ELAHERE

Work with internal Commercial Oncology Precision Medicine & Diagnostics team to develop and implement the national diagnostic strategies and activities for ELAHERE

Collaborate with external diagnostics partners as appropriate to execute U.S. joint commercial plans for ELAHERE

Master technical & market knowledge related to oncology Dx testing (e.g., IHC, NGS) and how it fits in the treatment paradigm of targeted therapies and/or genomically-defined tumors

Lead the pathology media strategy (content development, channel strategy, and execution)

Partner with brand and other internal teams on pathology P2P strategy and execution

Collaborate with training teams to ensure internal and external training needs for CDx are met

Contribute to the integrated strategy and annual planning process for Congresses and Sponsorships related to ELAHERE and biomarker testing

Support Pathology External Expert (EE) engagements, inclusive of executing individual contracting engagements and potential advisory boards

Maintain constant channels of collaboration with internal Brand team to develop and execute brand-specific biomarker strategies as a part of the broader brand planning process

Oversee approval of Statements of Work, Purchase Orders, and consulting contracts, including coordination with relevant individuals and vendors, as required

Participate in the annual budgeting process to ensure appropriate funding to deliver on team objectives and manage projects to budget

Potential for other responsibilities as business needs arise

Promote a culture of compliance and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures related to planning and executing Precision Medicine and Diagnostics programming

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

7+ years of general brand marketing experience or 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or diagnostic industry with project /agency management.

Demonstrated clinical and business acumen in the diagnostic and/or oncology arena

Strong written and verbal skills; experience / comfort discussing scientific content

Concept of budget development and management for marketing programs and tactics

Strong collaboration and team orientation

Excellent project management skills and ability to balance multiple projects at once

Leadership and communication skills.

Ability to foster strong relationships with senior management and external partners.

Preferred:

Advanced degree in life sciences

Rare disease/oncology/precision medicine experience

2+ years of diagnostics (IVD or laboratory industry) experience

Thorough knowledge of diagnostic testing environment and pathology as applicable to biomarker testing requirements

MBA or other relevant Master’s degree

Launch experience in pharmaceutical marketing or sales

Knowledge of marketing concepts within strategic planning process

Strong presentation experience and proficient PowerPoint skills

Demonstrated understanding of principles of market research to draw valid conclusions

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​
