Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.UCLA Athletics is seeking an Associate Director of Broadcast Engineering to work with UCLA’s Broadcast Operations Department. This individual will be a self-motivated, team-oriented, organized problem solver who can orchestrate live event production needs. The Associate Director of Broadcast Engineering should be a self-starter who is organized and holds exceptional troubleshooting skills necessary for innovative solutions to complex problems. This individual will collaborate with full, part-time, and student staff to ensure that all broadcast equipment is in good working order, set up properly, and operated appropriately. Additionally, the position will be responsible for maintaining all broadcast infrastructure. A successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, multi-purpose space within a large organization that supports an intercollegiate athletics program with 25 teams and 700 student-athletes. The individual will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of the UCLA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mission and goals, and comply with all NCAA and BIG Ten expectations.

Qualifications3-5 years of experience in video industry including experience in television broadcast, live streaming and videoboard production. (Preferred)Experience in a student run broadcast environment preferred. (Preferred)Experience with SMPTE, SDI, FIBER, XLR, Dante, and Network cables and paths for broadcast flow. (Required)Experience leading a group of students and freelance staff. (Required)Experience in supporting game presentation elements and fan experience staff. (Required)Experience collaborating with various stakeholders, including external vendors, for live event production. (Required)Expert understanding of broadcast control room engineering for live event production and equipment maintenance. (Required)Familiarity with ROSS, Riedel, Yamaha and Digico production equipment. (Required)Familiarity with Riedel Intercom systems and Dante audio networks. (Required)Understanding of multi-layer networking, VLANs, and basic IP protocol. (Required)Familiarity with Sony, Fuji, and PTZ broadcast cameras and lenses. (Required)Knowledge of modern broadcast cabling infrastructure including SMPTE, LC/ST Fiber, Cat6. Ability to teach and work with students to meet UCLA and B1G+ standards. (Required)Knowledge of videoboard production and equipment in sports and entertainment facilities. (Required)Ability to forecast budgets and manage resources effectively. (Required)Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. (Required)Ability to work independently, adapt quickly to changing situations, and perform under pressure. (Required)
