The North America Brand Design Retail team are the stewards of retail innovation in NIKE’s biggest geography. We are creative problem solvers, combining strategy and innovation, to make big ideas bigger for our consumers. We execute physical experiences that connect athletes* to the future of sport and create memories making athlete* dreams real at retail. We exist at the intersection of brand and commerce, the art and the science. This team designs holistic Nike store experiences: Store architecture, as well as permanent and seasonal storytelling, in the US and Canada by leveraging Global Brand and Retail standards. We obsess the execution of the brand offense across retail.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Nike seeks an entry-level Story Designer for Seasonal Retail Design: An innovator who will support and develop consumer-led retail design and the evolution of the Nike retail business. They are exceptional team players with strong attention to detail, focused on creative excellence and on maintaining brand standards, campaign guidelines, and execution expectations. They work under the direction of the Design Director and Sr. Designer, and alongside other designers. They have familiarity and interest in working across several mediums including graphic design, photography, video, and spatial design. They feel comfortable concepting design solutions and preparing image, typography, and layout guidelines. They have a passion for creativity and are committed to staying up to date with current and future trends and technology.

WHAT YOU’LL EXPERIENCE:

GameOn aims to transition skills and insights from sport and lived experience to the corporate setting. Throughout the 12-month long role, you will receive on-the-job experiences within our Retail Design Storytelling team and work with a variety of leaders to build the future of sport.

Examples of project work may include:

Extend global seasonal creative direction – working with the NA Seasonal Design Director and Sr. Designer, you will facilitate the extension of seasonal campaign retail directives (color, materials, photography, graphic design), focusing on scaled work. You will review creative work from agency partners and collaborate with the Sr. Designer to evolve the work, consolidating and communicating leadership feedback to maintain adherence to overall seasonal creative direction.

NA-originate art direction and graphic design— working with the NA Seasonal Design Director, you will collaborate in developing seasonal art direction, preparing initial graphic direction, and communicating the approach to teammates and agency partners while maintaining brand standards across typography, imagery, and layout.

Establish retail-right guidelines for execution and documentation— working with NA Sr. Designer and cross-functional partners you will document, audit, and establish best-in-class practices for storytelling, product displays, and professional photography.

Reviewing and assessing accessibility standards, working with designers and brand partners to identify and remove barriers that could prevent people with disabilities from accessing retail environments and storytelling. This may include advocating for design standards and wayfinding tools and services to promote inclusivity and accessibility for our consumer.

This is a 12-month experience with relocation assistance. This experience – as well as full-time positions – are located in-person at the NIKE, Inc. World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

Qualifications:

2 years' experience in a professional working environment. Experience or interest in graphic design, art direction, retail design, environmental and spatial design

Understanding of retail environments,art direction, design development and/or fabrication

Knowledge of applicable accessibility standards and best practices for places of public accommodation

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience working with athletes, designers, and creative partners

Experience with Keynote, familiarity or interest in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketchup
