Who we are looking for:

Re:Car dba Slate is looking for a very experienced Design Quality Leader, who is technical, dynamic and customer focused to join our growing team. The position will provide unequivocal customer quality leadership and mindset to achieve the highest vehicle quality levels with respect to perceived quality, durability and product safety. The role must work closely with all internal and external partners to exceed customers’ expectations. The role will be expected to have high integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness and strive to exhibit a positive and growth mindset. What you get to do:

Develop and implement strategy for product quality from the customer's perspective.

Ensure the concept quality, usability and functional quality in our product provides safety, durability and exceeds customer satisfaction.

Lead the quality market research activities, quality studies and benchmarks to determine customer quality requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust designs and integration into manufacturing processes.

Support the definition of Requirements, quality maturity and validation with respect to vehicle quality.

Support, in some cases lead risk minimization activities through use of appropriate risk assessment tools and drive robustness of prevention and detection systems for special characteristics.

Support the planning, execution and evaluation of vehicle test drives and Voice of the Customer audits.

Lead vehicle quality, APQP and PPAP activities to ensure a safe launch. Ensure strong collaboration with function and supplier partners.

Lead vehicle quality approvals of functions and systems ensuring the highest quality.

Support definition of quality processes and technical standards in collaboration with development, product management and operations to ensure product quality.

Provide quality leadership and core tools training to cross-functional teams.

Support and mentor team members, foster a culture of learning, and facilitate skill development to enhance the capabilities of the cross-functional team

Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the team:

The role will be expected to have the highest integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness and strive to exhibit a positive, growth and quality mindset. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals! You’ll also bring:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g.) industrial/ mechanical/ vehicle, or related field

15+ years of experience in automotive engineering/product quality, with at least 10 years in a leadership role at an OEM/ Tier 1

Very good technical understanding and knowledge of product/vehicle development and production with in-depth focus of customer quality.

A successful history of delivering complex new program launches on time while achieving high customer quality metrics.

Knowledge & experience of part/vehicle approval sign-off / buy-off

Very good product/vehicle assessment and analysis capabilities, with a keen eye for Voice of the Customer quality.

A proven leader and coach of problem solving and root cause analysis, using multiple industry tools.

In-depth knowledge and experience of quality management application in Engineering, Manufacturing & Warranty disciplines from Executive to Shopfloor level.

A high level of assertiveness, entrepreneurial thinking and data driven decision-making skills

Proven track record of developing high performance and collaborative teams directly and functionally.

Proficient in the use and teaching of commonly applied quality tools and processes in the automotive industry (e.g. IATF 169494, AIAG, VDA, APQP, PPAP, DVP&R’s, FMEA’s and Control Plans)

In-depth understanding of legal compliance and product liability requirements.

Excellent communication and project management skills

Highest level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
