Senior Network Designer – Special Programs

This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) business organization.A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration as these positions will focus on working directly with IT Business Partners and BDS stakeholders to implement and maintain communications and network systems enabling the BDS business to meet their organizational and program goals.Position ResponsibilitiesDuties include:

Network design, equipment procurementEquipment configuration and installationCable and wire design and implementationNetwork break-fix, security plan integrationEquipment decommission and surplusCapital/expense planning to ensure that the programs have a secure communications network to perform program development and execution in support of program customer

Performs hardware and software support to Secure Network, Secure Voice, and other non-standard system integrationSupports security activities such as US government Risk Management Framework (RMF) Compliance, Security Evaluation Checklists, device sanitization, contamination cleanup, and support to the management of System Security PlansDevelops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peersExercises critical thinking and innovative problem solvingActs as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the teamTriages and de-escalating issues with impacted partiesDevelops and executes project and process plans and implements policies and proceduresDemonstrates the Boeing Seek, Speak and Listen Behaviors in a deliberate and observable way

(A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)This position requires a successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program such that periodic updates are no longer required.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and IOS implementation5+ years of experience with Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN)5+ years of experience with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Network ProtocolsExperience with Communications Security (COMSEC) encryption devicesPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor's degree or higherTop Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information, CI/FS PolygraphExperience with Palo Alto next generation firewall systemsDepartment of Defense (DoD) 8570 certification (Security+ preferred)CCNA, CCNP or other Cisco CertificationTypical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).Relocation:
