: $60,000-$70,000 depending on experience and qualifications.Position OverviewThe Foundation for Montana History is seeking an outgoing, engaging, and high-energy individual to join our team as the Director of Communication and Development. This full-time, exempt, and benefits-eligible position is a key member of the Foundation for Montana History team. The Foundation is a state-wide 501(C)(3) charitable nonprofit based in Helena that raises funds, makes grants, and offers educational programming related to Montana’s rich and diverse histories.Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Director of Communication and Development leads the organization’s fundraising, external communications, and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate holds at least a bachelor’s degree in history, communications, business, or a related field and has 2-5 years of experience in communication, philanthropy, marketing, and/or sales.If you love working with people and sharing their stories, and possess excellent communication and networking skills, we would love to talk to you about this exciting opportunity.Primary DutiesDevelops and implements fundraising initiatives.Creates and oversees marketing and communication efforts, including website, newsletters, annual reports, appeals, social media posts, etc.Identifies, solicits, and maintains relationships with program sponsors and fiscal sponsors.Develops and coordinates public and private history-related events for fundraising and outreach.Builds and maintains strong organizational branding.Boosts awareness of public history in the Treasure State.Hours, Salary, and BenefitsThis is a full-time, salaried position based in Helena. Frequent in-state, compensated travel is required.
