Any additional information you require for this job can be found in the below text Make sure to read thoroughly, then apply.ABOUT YOU:As an Industrial Designer at Santa Cruz Bicycles, you will work closely with Engineering and Product teams to develop commercially viable designs that maintain our brand’s design language and support our leading position in the industry. You will also be responsible for developing and evolving a premium aesthetic for future relevancy and competitiveness of our frames and components.LOCATION:This role is located at our headquarters in Santa Cruz, California. Remote work is not an option for this role.WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE?Develop new, best-in-class bicycle frames, components, and accessories at the initial concept level through to production.Conduct market research to inform your design process.Rapidly generate 2D design concepts using CAD underlays and digital sketching platforms.Develop and refine 3D concept models using Creo, subdivision modeling, and physical prototyping.Create detailed design presentations and lead design reviews with project teams.Collect, interpret, and implement design feedback from Engineers, Product Managers, and LT members.Work closely with Engineers to ensure proper implementation of design intent on all SCB products.Create production-ready CAD models and communicate with overseas vendors to achieve successfully manufactured parts and assemblies.Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement accordingly.WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:BFA or BS in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or Mechanical Engineering.A minimum of five years working as an Industrial Designer or Design Engineer.Experience designing sporting goods and/or performance products.Advanced 3D surfacing skills, 2D sketching skills, and presentation techniques.Proficiency in PTC Creo or Solidworks, Keyshot, and Adobe Creative Suite.A deep knowledge of cycling, cycling culture, and market trends.A deep knowledge of part design for a range of manufacturing processes (Composites, injection molding, machining, forging, and hydroforming).Ability to create production-ready CAD models and drawings.Passion for collaboration and the ability to provide and receive critical feedback in a productive manner.Travel up to four weeks per year.LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, comprehend, and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR THE ROLE:

This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, industry experience, and the interview with a potential range of up to $115,000-$130,000 per year.
