Assistant Designer

to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting our design department with creative, tactical, and organizational tasks. As an Assistant Designer, you will collaborate with a highly creative and energetic team, playing an integral role in supporting the Boston Proper brand. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a flexible communication style and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the design team and product development teams to communicate with vendors during all stages of the product development process.

Manage multiple product seasons simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met according to the development calendar.

Assist in post-seasonal vendor meetings, sourcing silhouettes, and fulfilling product line needs.

Support the creation of trim and embellishment layouts, as well as embroidery designs, aligned with seasonal trends-adjusting size, color, and design as needed.

Create flat sketches for apparel and update artwork in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with direction from the design team.

Research and assist in the development of fabrics, prints, patterns, and trims.

Input style creation updates and bill of materials (BOM) information in the PLM system.

Create and update seasonal line sheets for various categories.

Collaborate with the technical design team to streamline silhouettes and improve design efficiency.

Participate in design meetings by taking detailed notes and following up on key action items.

Manage and track product samples for development and review meetings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.

0-3 years of experience in women's apparel, preferably in design, CAD, or product development.

Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-up capabilities.

Proficiency in Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A keen eye for luxury-level design and an understanding of fabrics, trims, fit, and construction.

Passion for print, pattern, and design details that contribute to the uniqueness of the brand.

Ability to work effectively within a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally.

Strong sketching and presentation abilities.
