This position will work on-site in Miami Florida
Position Summary:
This is an important strategic role in the implementation of public relations programs designed to create and maintain favorable public image for the organization In this position you will need to be a communications and public relations professional capable of assisting with directing projects and project teams and producing content of the highest caliber The position may focus on any of the following professional areas including media and influencer relations storytelling press tours PR agency relations and event support and staffing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support in executing strategies to secure impactful media coverage for Royal Caribbean International subject matter experts products services and events including pitching and engaging reporters facilitating media interviews
and supporting executives
Build and maintain key professional relationships with significant media outlets and key journalistsSupport in directing the activities of external agencies and internal teams as needed
Independently develop and execute appropriate strategies to address communication challenges
Oversee significant communications programs which may include promotions press trips press conferences
executive briefings
Handle incoming media inquiries and responsesCreate innovative approaches to generating coverage in the media draft press releases talking points and statementsTrack press coverage and write coverage reports analyzing the output and success of media relations efforts
Plan and implement group and individual press trips and liaise with appropriate personnel on requestsStay abreast of latest industry developments trends
and shifts in the travel industry
Travel as neededQualifications Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent directly related experience required5-7 years of PR agency public relations journalism or corporate communications experienceExperience with media relations
Strong skills in pitching and comfortable reaching out to top tier media
Flexibility to work outside normal hours and travel as appropriate (domestic and international)
Experience in travel industry and working for a global company ideal
but not essential
Strong ability to interact with senior leaders and build effective relationships within the company public
guests and media
Strong planning capabilities to identify and prioritize communication strategies and activities as well as to meet the deadlines required to support media and business needsStrong writing skills – message creation experience a plusExcellent research written verbal
and presentation skills
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in fast-paced high-volume environmentGoal oriented and action-focused practical and self-disciplinedAbility to assist in coordinating projects or participate in cross-functional teams
Effortlessly organized self-motivator with a wealth of creative ideas
Understanding of social media influencers
and emerging media
Strong project management planning evaluation
and analytical capabilities
Ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner
Demonstrated ability to quickly analyze situations and alternatives and make prudent decisionsFinger on the pulse - always up to date with trends
both inside and outside our industry
