Under the direction of the Head Design Manager, and in partnership with peers, the Lighting Designer will develop design concepts through 3d modeling/rendering software, as well as technical drawings that achieve overall product strategy, and merchant objectives. Manage design execution and drive product development process throughout the entire development cycle. The initial category responsibilities for the Designer include both PB Main Lighting and Bath Lighting.

Responsibilities

Manage specific tasks and areas, execute the design process for multiple seasons at once.

Research and develop seasonal trends, themes, concepts, color, fabrications, and styling.

Create designs that support merchant line plans, an assortment of strategies, price points, and overall creative direction.

Ensure product design package is complete, accurate, and handed off to Pottery Barn agents and Vendors on time.

Maintains brand "P.O.V" (Point of View) and "P.O.D" (Point of Difference) through collaboration with design peers, merchants, and vendors

Create and deliver effective, cohesive product presentations to "sell" concepts to merchants.

Communicate effectively to ensure product execution according to design intent.

Build with the team strong, balanced assortments that include good, better, best strategy, and core, must-have fashion items.

Demonstrate visible leadership at the team and division level, and initiate opportunities for continuous improvement

Manage, track and organize incoming samples

Criteria

Expertise in 3D modeling and rendering software

Strong AutoCAD or similar drafting skills

Adobe Suite

Use strong organizational skills and scheduling skills

Entrepreneurial spirit

High level of motivation and drive

Excellent personality and vendor relationships skills

Function well in a team setting

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time

Ability to type on a keyboard and operate a PC

Ability to converse over a telephone

Ability to transport materials or equipment or lifting, moving, carrying objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis

Ability to work in an office and perform in a corporate environment

This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $80,000-$90,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
