You will be part of the Decorative Accessories GEAR Product Development Team. You will support the Designers who design gear (backpacks, lunches, travel, food storage and nursery gear) for Pottery Barn Kids & Teen. The team's job is to deliver innovative designs, communicate with overseas vendors, execute on time approvals, and remain competitive with the kids and teen gear market.

About the role

As a Design Coordinator you will support the design team with sample management, presentation and meeting preparation, vendor communication, licensed product development and general organization & task management. Must be detailed and self-motivated and enjoy working closely in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Product Development

Coordinate the production of design concepts/samples as directed by Designers.Track department samples and designs, following up on any late or missing packages.Maintain detailed product status spreadsheet (trackers) for each season development.Support designers to prepare for meetings and presentations.Attend and keep notes on all Product Development meetings; own the meeting calendar.Be involved in the product development cycle and calendar.Own the management of Licensing submission through to the final approval stage; requires understanding the parameters set by each licensor and working closely with our licensing team on submissions.Send samples for testing; help maintain testing development calendar.Assist in communication to the vendors using our Product Lifecycle Management program (PLM).

Office

Own keeping the office space and product Sample Closets organized and functional.Help maintain the fabric/materials library.Work with designers on occasional product purges and archiving.Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects (samples) up to 50 pounds on a limited basis.Operate & maintain a laptop & communicate via phone, email, or other digital formats.

Criteria

Strong organizational skills.Strong communication skills.Ability to prioritize and schedule work in a deadline driven environment.Proficiency in MAC & PC.Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel, understanding of Microsoft Office.Familiarization with PLM or similar software.Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.Ability to perform work onsite in the San Francisco office full-time.Bachelors or Design degree (or experience in related field).This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00 per hour. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
