Position Description

The Principal Designer- Piping is responsible for performing detailed design activities in the Piping discipline.
Essential Functions
Perform complex designs and layouts of Piping & Instrument Diagrams, Piping Plans, Sections & Isometrics and Piping Bill of Materials utilizing CAD hardware and software.
Review vendor drawings and information.
Train and direct designers and other CAD personnel.
Ability to function in lead role on projects.
Qualifications
5 years of CAD experience
10 or more years of design experience in a drafting environment developing Piping & Instrument Designs (P&IDs), piping plans and sections and piping bills of materials.
Working knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards
Previous project leadership preferred
Experience in piping projects for pipeline companies and/or upstream companies’ compressor stations, pump stations and facilities preferred
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Recent version of AutoCAD and CadWorx
Microsoft Excel
Education
High school diploma required
Associates Degree or certification from technical trade preferred

Work Environment/Physical Demands
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Frequent sitting and operating a computer.
Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or office materials.
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
Physical demands requirements are at levels of those for sedentary work.
