BAR Interiors is seeking a talented and passionate Interior Designer with primarily hospitality and custom homes experience. The focus of the role will be a combination of hospitality, high-end custom homes, and urban multifamily projects. We design unique concept/visioning influenced interior experiences for exciting projects of all scales. The scope of opportunities will range from brand positioning/concept through CA phases and from contributing original design solutions to taking direction from Senior Designers and our Interior Design Studio Director. We currently have openings in both our San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. We believe in the vital nature of in-person collaboration; we are not interested in candidates seeking full-time remote positions.
Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDMinimum of 5 – 8 years of experienceProven ability to design, document and execute high level design projects, both in collaboration with and independent of an architecture studioUnderstanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design conceptsExperience evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced design and technical methods, with responsibility for project assignments including brand positioning, programming, design development, production and coordination through construction documents and construction administrationStrong competency in interior design specifications and industry standards, and familiarity with accessibility codes a plusAble to work easily independently and alongside team to meet budget and scheduleStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to acquire and share knowledgeStrong interest in educating and mentoring younger team membersExcellent verbal, written and graphic communication skillsProficiency with Sketch-up, Adobe CS, AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite; Lumion is a plusStudioDesigner/SpecSources/any other purchasing software is a plusSustainability accreditation highly desiredA professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related disciplineAt BAR Architects & Interiors, our diverse practice has always had a singular focus — to create places that inspire and that stand the test of time while meeting each of our client’s specific needs in unique ways.
