Print & Digital Assistant Production Supervisor

Salary: The Print & Digital Assistant Production Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring production efficiency while managing the day-to-day activities involving the production of ARRL books and magazines. Responsibilities include layout and design, release of production files to the printer, and coordinating warehouse delivery of finished product.

Salary min: $60,000.00

Salary max: $80,000.00

Level: Experienced

Duration: Full Time


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Monitors schedules and timelines to ensure each phase of the production stays on track.
  • Oversees printing schedules, ensuring publications are printed and distributed on time, while staying within budget.
  • Manages deadlines to ensure all production timelines are met.
  • Monitors production activity, identifies process problems, troubleshoots causes, and develops solutions
  • Produces print and digital publications including but not limited to magazines, books, documents, and conference materials.
  • Determines and executes layout based on design concept and available space.
  • Develops specs for print projects (number of pages, type of paper, type of binding, trim size etc.)
  • Gathers project quotes from printers and other service providers.
  • Assists in verifying quality standards; ensures job order specifications are executed.
  • Collaborates with team members to resolve design issues; offers options and performs edits.
  • Monitors and reports job status to Managing Editors and Department Director.
  • Maintains and stores files in accordance with department guidelines.
  • Acts as liaison between internal and external partners.
  • Ensures quality of publications and adherence to budget.
  • Provides production services to other departments.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
