Job Summary:
Ilitch Sports and Entertainment is looking for a Senior Motion Graphics Designer to join our Creative Department to produce impactful and engaging content for the Red Wings, Tigers, and Ilitch Sports + Entertainment while consistently implementing the organization's branding across stadium/arena displays and social and digital channels. This position is based in Detroit, Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating impactful and engaging content to improve the fan experience and generate revenue, and create and implement the organization's brand design look and feel and establish consistency across all platforms including arena, digital, marketing and broadcast as well as other Ilitch Sports + Entertainment events.Assist in developing concepts, storyboarding and pre-productionCollaborate with other members of creative team on major/high-profile motion graphic projectsResponsible for the creation of impactful and entertaining pumpers, player personality videos, opens and other content used in-arena during games.Creates unique content to be used on social media and other digital platforms to engage with fans and generate revenue. Assists in creating compelling content that can be used for paid media to assist with ticket sales, co-brand sponsor promotions, retail sales, tv ratings and other essential business objectives.Collaborates with the Art Director and Manager of Motion Graphics to plan, concept and create the organization's brand look and feel for each seasonStrong ability to integrate 3D elements into motion graphic productions.Creates compelling motion graphics and infographics and helps create consistency and qualityAssists in managing projects, providing art direction motion graphic work created by external groups or freelancers.Helps manage content that is used on all platforms by working with game day operators.Helps with finishing edited productions (effects, color correction and other video treatments)Assists with conceptual and storytelling productions.Continuously looks for new and innovative ways to create new fan experience contentCommitted to developing a diverse and inclusive environment.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Motion Graphic Design, Illustration, Art Media and/or Digital Design or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 4-6 years of design experience in sports motion design, ad agency, or design firmExcellent collaboration skills, must be able to work with a teamMust be able to receive and implement feedback and provide feedback to other motion designersExcellent communication skills.Strong ability to maintain professionalism in high stress situations.Proficiency of 3D application, preferably Cinema 4D, 3DS Max, or BlenderStrong ability to integrate 3D elements into video and motion graphic productionsExperience creating broadcast-quality motion graphics for live productionsStrong understanding of motion graphic developmentStrong design background with advanced knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and IllustratorIntermediate knowledge of PremiereExperience with finishing edited productions (rotoscoping effects, color correction and other video treatments)Strong conceptual and storytelling abilityExperience designing style guides and storyboards for motion graphicsUnderstanding or experience in live event production a plusExperience designing in Ross Xpression a plusWorking Conditions:
