Assistant Motion Designer

Position Overview
This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) in the Animation department at Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE). We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to develop animations and motion graphics for HSE. The selected candidate will assist with a wide variety of visual projects for all Hornets home games and select HSE events.

Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Game Presentation and Animation departments.Conceptualize and develop animations for all HSE brands, enhancing visual storytelling.Implement, execute, and maintain graphic elements and video library assets.Create visual content for video features and motion graphics for in-game and in-arena use.Ensure quality and brand consistency across all completed projects.Produce dynamic and energetic graphic content for scoreboards and various arena video boards, utilizing unique composition sizes (LED and multiple display formats) and employing video effects, compositing, typography, and 2D/3D animations.Collaborate effectively with multiple HSE departments and take creative direction as needed.Assist game day graphic staff in maintaining HSE brand consistency, partnership activations, and various graphic content during all Hornets games.Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you will have or demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
Associate's degree in Computer Animation, Motion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.Preferred minimum of 2 years of animation experience.Highly creative with strong skills in composition, design, layout, and motion design.Intermediate proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop is required.Skills in other Creative Cloud programs are a plus, particularly Adobe Premiere and Illustrator.Working knowledge of 3D programs is preferred, especially Cinema 4D.Awareness of current trends in design, motion, color, and typography.Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.Capable of working independently or collaboratively, with excellent communication skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion with sensitive information.Flexibility to work necessary hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays for games and events..
