Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Student Affairs digital media specialist oversees social media accounts for UT Dallas' mascot and student life accounts, produces and manages photography and videography initiatives on behalf of the Division of Student Affairs and operates/oversees all internal digital signage for the area.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing content across Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube and other social accounts as identified. They should be comfortable evaluating and recommending emerging social and digital media technologies and methodologies that could advance digital and social initiatives within the division. The ideal candidate must be a skilled photographer and videographer, including editing for both.
The digital media specialist must have design/graphic experience and be highly skilled at video creation and editing, from storyboarding to final production, including sound. They should be comfortable writing and editing their own content, following Associated Press (AP) style guidelines and university brand standards. The candidate must be comfortable managing students. They must be adept at schedule-keeping and project management, as well as working independently and within a team.
The digital media specialist creates, reviews and manages content across 28 indoor digital signs. Content includes digital flyers, videos, advertising, athletic event details, event information, important dates and more. Content is shared through the university's Tightrope Media System. They may work with the university's OIT office and other key personnel-including outside entities-to keep the digital signage technology running smoothly. The digital media specialist works closely with and arranges meetings with students to promote clear understanding about the processes and benefits of using digital signage.
Technology/software/hardware used in this position:Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition and Captivate, or other design and editing tools as identified.Canon, GoPro, Nikon (drone camera experience a plus).PowerPoint, Keynote.Tightrope Media System.

Remote Work Notice:
After the six-month probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (one day remote/four days in office) work schedule, subject to business needs and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
