Join usWe are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America.

The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

About This RoleThe Internal Communications Lead provides communication support and direction for strategic initiatives and operational topics. This position supports and maintains FDB’s global standards and develops editorial and video content for intranet, publications newsletters, e-boards, presentations and other internal communication channels. This role works closely with members of the FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Communications Team and supports communications for both the Holly Springs and Morrisville locations.

What You’ll Do

Develops, directs and executes internal communications plan for the Holly Springs and Morrisville FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies sites to ensure they are aligned with global narrative, its’ people-focused achievements, People Strategy, company culture/values and other topics to support the company as a great place to work.

Prepares content, executes, and facilitates internal communications, such as Town Halls, internal newsletters, video briefs and scripts, and all related messaging; in addition, engages with employees and leaders across the business to determine the appropriate audience, timing, channels, and verbiage for outgoing messages.

Partners cross-functionally across teams in close collaboration with Human Resources, Operations and other functions both internally and externally to execute communication initiatives from concept to delivery, while championing the inclusion of our employee and leadership voice.

Serves as the on-site administrator of the FDBN & FDBU Intranet site, ensuring information is timely and visually engaging; collaborates with Global Communications team to facilitate the creation of new site pages as needed; trains and empowers departmental contributors and page owners across other FDBN workstreams in their own page management, troubleshooting issues and answering questions as needed. Conducts periodic content audits and recommends improvements to the Intranet.

Manages the site’s primary communications account, FDBN Comms, FDBU Comms, distributing weekly newsletters, event invites, regular operational updates, and collaborates with Jacob’s Engineering team on key site messaging/ updates as needed.

Provides communications support for external events or initiatives (e.g., video projects, social media scripts, SLT conference presentations, etc.) as required by the site in collaboration with FDB’s Global Communications team.

Translates FDB Holly Springs and FDB Morrisville business decisions and strategies to support communications and message development to ensure there is synergy across the sites.

Performs other duties, as assigned.

Who You AreYou are able to provide communication support for strategic initiatives and operational topics and support and maintain FDB’s global standards and develop editorial and video content for intranet, publications newsletters, e-boards, presentations and other internal communication channels.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing public relations, journalism or related fields with 12+ years of previous experience in a communications role.

Excellent writing and research skills, with knowledge of AP style and a keen attention to detail.

Proven experience working in a matrixed environment and operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.

Fluency in communications tools and technology such as Canva, Contact, etc.

Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud.

Experience with corporate video projects; basic video editing experience.

Understanding of pharmaceutical/biotechnology or life sciences industry.

Enterprise mindset and experience with extensive internal and corporate communications, including corporate reputation, change management / organizational communications, and employee engagement.

Versed at translating communications for both internal and external audiences consistent with today's fast-moving digital world.

Willingness to professionally steer and collaborate with external video production crews on larger projects.

Ability to thrive and communicate in a Multi-cultural Company.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with corporate video projects; basic video editing experience.

Understanding of pharmaceutical/biotechnology or life sciences industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWill work in environment which may necessitate respiratory protection. May work in Mechanical/Production spaces that may require hearing protection and enrollment in a hearing conservation program. Will work in environment operating a motor vehicle or Powered Industrial Truck. Ability to discern audible cues. Ability to inspect or perform a task with 20/20 corrected vision, visual acuity, including distinguishing color. Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time. Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time. Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands and/or fingers. Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools. Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 33 lbs. Ability to bend, push or pull, reach to retrieve materials from 18” to 60” in height, and use twisting motions.
