In addition, Associate Editor for Proceedings provides primary program support to two Acquisition Editors.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsible for the acquisition and pre-production process for all AMS proceedings series. This includes, but is not limited to, attending selected AMS meetings, receiving proposals, handing the review process with the editorial committees, communicating with editors and authors, including sending out instructions and paperwork, organization and handling of manuscript submissions, all steps associated with sending the volume into production, writing of promotional text for the back covers, preparation of materials for pricing, and handling complimentary copies.Provides program support to two Acquisition Editors; provides supplementary administrative support to other Acquisition Editors if needed.Prepares and issues book contracts using templates.Completes all aspects of pre-production processing for designated books.Prepares project sheets and pricing models for designated books for the Book Project Review meetings.Participates in the development of new Departmental information management systems and workflows.Assists with the preparation of descriptive marketing for book titles and series as needed.Assists with the collection, analysis, and presentation of data relating to the book publishing program.Provides staff support for designated book editorial committees.Performs various duties related to book publication, including database entry, maintenance of book pages, maintenance of author discounts, preparation of tracking reports.Maintains documentation for procedures and policies related to the Essential Functions.Handles routine correspondence within and outside the organization.Performs other or similar related duties as requested or assigned.INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS:Works with other members of the Editorial Department, as well as with members of Electronic Prepress, Creative Services, Sales and Marketing, and Fiscal Departments as needed.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:NoneQUALIFICATIONS:
