11Alive, TEGNA's NBC station in Atlanta, is looking for a motivated, experienced journalist who will lead the evolution of our streaming news platforms. Our senior producer of streaming will help expand our innovative OTT experience (11Alive+) to bring must-see news and weather content into our viewers' homes. The person in this newly created role will collaborate across station departments to identify what our audience wants to watch and solidify a workflow for successful execution of the strategy.

The ideal candidate will have experience curating news, weather and entertainment content on streaming platforms, with an ability to produce, write and edit and a keen eye for detail. We are seeking a person with a knack for creativity and identifying opportunities to "produce up" daily news content, including extended interviews, weather and sports content, and news conferences.

This exempt role will report to the Director of Digital Content.

Responsibilities:
• Program our 24/7 OTT stream (11Alive+) with newscasts, breaking news and weather, extended interviews, original content as well as archival material with overall goal to increase minutes watched and create loyal users
• Manage WXIA's live-streaming strategies and execution through vMix and additional digital video tools
• Curate and organize WXIA's OTT platform (11Alive+) and YouTube (1.7M+ subscribers) to create the most compelling viewer experience
• Work with news and digital departments to optimize existing content
• Monitor metrics and make content decisions with goal of increasing time spent on platforms
• Collaborate with managers, reporters, producers and photojournalists across the newsroom to identify news events and interviews ideal for live streaming and on-demand video
• Utilize available video and platform optimization tools (such as TubeBuddy) to improve digital video content performance through such attributes as thumbnails, tags, playlists and more.
• Serve as OTT advocate throughout station to help foster an environment that champions original, digital-first content production
• Create original streaming content aligning with overall content strategy of news department
• Other duties, as assigned by news management

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in streaming or live programming
• History of driving content creation with measurable track record of success
• Strong communication skills, verbal, written and visuals; ability to effectively and succinctly communicate to all levels and departments
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities to successfully meet established timelines.
• Experience using analytics to shape strategy
• Working knowledge of Vmix or similar streaming software, strongly preferred
• Experience with Edius or similar non-linear editing software, strongly preferred
• Strong graphic productions skills, preferred
• Ability to work within deadlines
• Understanding and interest in digital/video metrics and analytics
• Knowledge of video and audio copyrights
• Solid news judgment and ethics that emphasizes accurate, fair and unique local content
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and the ability to deal with the rapid pace of news
• Ability to craft compelling headlines and descriptions
• Passion and vision for emerging media
• Willingness to work odd hours, weekends and/or holidays
• Knowledge of trends in OTT
• Experience in marketing, a plus
• Identify and correct potential problems before they are published/streamed
• Can work independently and cooperatively as part of various teams.
• Must be a self-starter/self-motivated with a desire and ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies.
