If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.The Director will lead the artistic vision for the 2025 musical production at Our Lady of Lourdes. This role requires balancing creative leadership with logistical oversight, ensuring that the vision for the production is fully realized while coordinating with other members of the production team and school stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

Creative Vision : Oversee the artistic and creative direction of the musical from pre-production to final performance. This includes selecting the musical (in collaboration with producers), interpreting the script, and shaping the production’s overall vision.

Auditions & Casting : Lead the audition process by organizing audition materials, watching all performances, and making final casting decisions.

Rehearsal Leadership : Direct rehearsals, ensuring the progress and performance quality of the cast. Design and implement a rehearsal schedule while maintaining flexibility for unforeseen challenges.

Collaboration : Work closely with the Choreographer, Musical Director, Production Manager, and Parent Producers to execute the production smoothly.

Set & Costume Design Input : Collaborate with the Production Manager on the vision for set and costumes, ensuring alignment with the overall production concept.

Conflict Management : Handle conflicts among cast members and communicate with the Production Manager and Parent Producers for resolutions.

Tech Week & Performance : Lead technical rehearsals and provide feedback on staging, lighting, sound, and other elements to ensure the show is fully prepared for performance.

Experience & Qualifications :

3-5 years of experience directing musical theater productions.

Proven experience working with middle school students (ages 12-14) in a theatrical setting.

Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate a clear vision and lead a team.

Familiarity with budget management and resourceful production execution.

Time Commitment :

Attend at least 87.5% of rehearsals (4 days a week, 3 PM - 5 PM).

Participate in pre-production meetings starting in mid-November, with rehearsals beginning in January.

Attend all tech week rehearsals and final performances in March.

Job Types: Temporary, Contract

Pay: $1,320.00 per year
