The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Senior Internal Communication Specialist to our growing Brand and Communications division in Seattle. In this role, you will provide a high level, specialized skills in internal communications to drive business outcomes by strategically engaging employees, ensuring they are informed, involved, interested, and inspired with the right messages at the right time through appropriate channels. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

General Communications

Develops and executes internal communication plans to support the broader enterprise.

Develops strategic messaging.

Inform, involve, interest and inspire employees.

Serve as a central point of contact for HR and Safety communications.

Conceptualize, write, and edit content for internal-facing audiences.

Create and disseminates company-wide communication and storytelling through internal channels, including Sharepoint, Teams, Viva Engage, and Outlook.

Manage internal social media channels to include aligning content with overall messaging strategy.

Lead deployment of HR-related and Safety internal engagement campaigns.

Takes lead (or serve as subject matter expert) for HR and Safety communications.

Research and prepare talking points and provide speaker preparation support to key internal clients.

Adherence to corporate branding, editorial style guide and internal content strategy.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interface with key partners at varying levels within the organization.

Excellent customer service and collaboration skills with a proven ability in internal communications and storytelling.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, juggle multiple assignments, and maintain attention to accuracy and detail.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Public Relations, Communication, English, or related field required.

At least 5 years’ experience in a communications or related role required, preferably in supporting HR and Safety teams.

Experience providing internal communications support in a large organization or multi-office environment strongly preferred.

Highly proficient with Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Experience in the Microsoft Viva Suite and with an email communication platform preferred.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Clear understanding of McKinstry mission and values.

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

The pay range for this position is $58,410- $94,100 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
