Summary

As a key member of the Marketing Team, the Public Relations Manager oversees the communications, public image, and media activities for all See Rock City, Inc.'s portfolio of brands. See Rock City, Inc. has an incredible story to tell about its 92-year-old legacy, and the PR Manager must lead that communication strategy to effectively tell that story in the community and beyond. In this role, they will develop communication strategies to engage guests, increase brand trust, and lead to positive and effective media coverage. Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Public Relations Manager is responsible for performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

Delivers excellent guest service to internal and external customers in line with the organization's mission, culture, and values.Models appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times, displaying the values of the culture of excellence and leading in a manner that serves as an organizational model for the values.Works to garner positive media recognition through a variety of activities including but not limited to developing relationships with various media outlets and writers, media development and story pitching to various outlets, various award nominations and industry recognition programs and community sponsorship or partnerships.Creates, manages, and implements public relations efforts and other promotional plans for See Rock City Inc., Including, but not limited to, media visits/stunts, scheduling media interviews, press conferences, organizing media events, etc.Develops and executes a detailed Public Relations strategy for all SRC brands.Maintains reputable relationships and creates goodwill through various communications channels.Works alongside the Director to create annual budgets for PR activities and manages expenses to budget continuously to maximize the return on investment for those activitiesMonitors media coverage to effectively measure and track the effectiveness of all PR activities through established KPI measurements, reporting regular updates to Marketing Director and the team on progress in PR activities.Researches all relevant content, writes, fact checks, edits, and distributes press releases (via curated media contact lists and a media software database) and media invites for relevant events, projects, and newsworthy announcements.Organizes all media or VIP events for SRC, Inc.Researches, approves and vets all media requests.Manages sponsorships and community partners including review, valuation, and fulfillment. Serves as the point contact on all community relationships, including the coordination of events and activities with various partners to ensure the effectiveness of those activities and maximize those impacts for business and for those partnersServes as the primary media, community relations and PR liaison for all brandsIs a spokesperson with media as needed and/or coordinates the appropriate interview person and knows all talking points.Develops narrative and speaking points for all media interviews and prepares partners prior to the events.Conducts training with members of leadership on the basics of Public Relations and the organization's approach to handling situations related to media.Edits organizational publications and copy for internal and external audiences, including marketing collateral and websites, as needed.Provides timely and accurate promotional materials to the media as necessary, including press kits, b-roll, images, character appearances, props, gift items, booking sheets, etc. that tell the most compelling and effective story.Serves on the Crisis Team and assists with crisis planning, acting as the primary communications liaison in any crisis situation.Stays current on public relations practices and other marketing trends by reading credible online and print materials and attending conferences, workshops, and other educational opportunities.Maintains documentation of accolades, awards, timelines, events, and records of notable dates, events, and coverage.Adheres to the organization's processes and procedures, ensuring these are consistently followed at all times.Leads and manages PR team members, including work delegation, professional development, evaluation, and performance management.Assigns projects and directs team members to ensure compliance and accuracy.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.Minimum three years' experience in social media, public relations, and social/digital media with multi-brand experience. Five years of experience is preferred.A combination of experience and education will be considered.Possesses an outgoing, friendly personality and the desire to provide quality service to internal and external customers.Coordination and Team Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and oversee others per SRC values.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, guests, and the general public; read and analyze business correspondence; develop and write reports.Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, blogs, Google, Dropbox, and Basecamp. Willingness to learn other marketing-related software as needed, such as Cision.?Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.Knowledge of updated AP style required.Ability to speak on camera professionally.Possess a current driver's license and good driving record.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced, efficient environment.Must possess a current driver's license and safe driving record.Must be able to travel occasionally.Ability to provide a flexible schedule to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.Required to use hands and fingers regularly. Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds. Requires frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Must be able to stand regularly.
