Social Media Specialist

to provide critical, tactical, and strategic support to the ARX team. The candidate will develop stories across a variety of channels and strengthen our relationship with our customers and influencers. Responsibilities

Create content for various social media platforms, track and evaluate reach and engagement of the social media content created.Manage day-to-day implementation of CDC’s AR social media handle(s).Grow CDC’s social media followers and engagement related to AR. Develop a marketing plan with goals to help grow the social media conversation over time.Conduct research on current digital communication materials and methods, especially for social media.Create messages and materials that promote infection control and prevention of transmission of emerging infections caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria and efforts to improve antibiotic use; review messages regularly and implement changes based on formative research that may inform messages and materials.Cross-communicate with other divisions and centers, especially other social media coordinators, to ensure collaboration and consistency of messages regarding antibiotic resistance and improving antibiotic use wherever antibiotics are used.Attend all antimicrobial resistance-related coordination meetings and team-building activities. Assist with the review and clearances of materials related to CDC antimicrobial resistance issues.Identify AR communications gaps, tasks, or communications needs of other AR-involved divisions; proactively plan in advance and between government AR announcements and emergency responses.Under the guidance of the ARX unit, collaborate with colleagues to conduct large-scale promotions and other outreach activities.Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participate in team strategy sessions to discuss solutions. Proactively recommend updated strategies to improve analysis tactics and outreach efforts.Coordinate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including planning, logistics, and follow-up activities.Provide logistical support at approved conferences and meetings in relation to communications and antimicrobial resistance activities.Attend CDC approved trainings required to learn new CDC government systems to complete required tasks.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communication, English, or journalism or a minimum of 5 years of experience in social media or health communications.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills and prioritization skills.Ability to recognize client needs.Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills.Capable of taking direction and being adaptable to change.Exceptional customer service orientation, attention to detail, and deadlines ensuring effective task management.Comfortable public speaker who can provide presentations and reports on their findings.Work well as part of a team.
