Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to provide high-level support to an FAA executive. The ideal candidate will ensure all briefings, documents, and written communications are crafted with precision, clarity, and the appropriate tone to effectively convey critical information to various stakeholders within and outside the FAA.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with an FAA executive to understand communication objectives and target audiencesDevelop, edit, and refine a wide range of technical and non-technical documents, including executive briefings, reports, presentations, memos, and correspondenceEnsure all written materials align with FAA standards, policies, and messaging guidelinesTranslate complex technical information into clear, concise language suitable for diverse audiencesManage multiple writing projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentConduct research to gather and verify information for inclusion in various documentsCoordinate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of technical contentProvide writing and editing support for speeches, talking points, and other executive communicationsMaintain a consistent tone and messaging across all executive communicationsStay informed about FAA initiatives, aviation industry trends, and relevant regulatory changesRequirements:Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field7+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in aviation, aerospace, or a government agencyDemonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and compelling content for executive-level audiencesExcellent editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detailStrong understanding of document design principles and data visualization techniquesProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and WordExperience with content management systems and collaborative writing toolsAbility to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing prioritiesStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior leadershipFamiliarity with FAA operations, aviation terminology, and federal government communication protocols preferredPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a relevant fieldExperience working in or writing for the aviation industry or federal agenciesKnowledge of FAA regulations and National Airspace System operationsCertification in technical writing or related professional designationThis position requires a highly skilled communicator who can effectively support an FAA executive in crafting impactful written materials. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a keen understanding of executive-level communication needs in the aviation sector.
