LVCK is seeking a senior-level designer with a curious perspective of the world and how people move through it. We are looking for a senior designer who is passionate about designing for the built environment. This individual will work on various cultural, civic, and not-for-profit clients, such as healthcare, museums, NYC State parks, historic buildings and gardens, universities, and corporations.Designers who work with us benefit from direct interaction with LVCK’s two principals, learning from individuals with decades of experience designing and implementing solutions for international nonprofits to transit agencies. We readily share our knowledge, design sensibilities, and tips for efficiency in file management and project management. We enjoy mentoring designers at different professional development stages as we continually learn through each collaboration.ResponsibilitiesWorks directly with Principal-in-charge, Senior Project Manager, client, and consultant teams.Works closely with the Principal-in-charge to translate design intent and develop a design from concept to completion.Develops and creates design solutions for all phases harmoniously with the firm’s philosophy. Guide design direction and establish goals and priorities with input from the client and principal in charge.Fluency in technical aspects of the project. Coordinates shop drawing review with client and vendor to meet technical requirements of the project.Coordinates with Principals and Senior Project Manager to directly supervise the team's design and technical delivery. Supervises, motivates, and manages intermediate and junior staff.Required Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceBA/BS in graphic design10+ years of experience of managing EGD wayfinding and signage projects, including planning, design, and documentation.Participation in design strategy, master plan development, and knowledge of digital wayfinding technologies (preferred).Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignKnowledge of SketchUp or 3D software (preferred).Experience designing for code – ADA, building, and fire codeExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong time management skills with the ability to follow up on and balance long-and short-term projects.Excellent typography skills.
