After a decade of delivering design solutions, LVCK became a Beyer Blinder Belle Studio in March of 2023. LVCK operates out of BBB’s New York office, has integrated with BBB’s interdisciplinary design practice, and continues serving our clients. Since its inception, LVCK’s work has been built on a dual foundation of a strong social mission and creative engagement. LVCK’s areas of specialization include Cultural, Civic, Education, and Historic Preservation.

Approach to Design

LVCK is seeking a Mid-Level Designer with a curious perspective of the world and how people move through it. We are looking for a Mid-Level designer who is passionate about designing for the built environment. The Mid-Level Designer will work alongside LVCK Senior Designers and Senior Project Manager, while also having design reviews with LVCK principals. This individual will also participate in client meetings and presentations. The projects range from cultural, civic, and not-for-profit clients such as museums, parks, libraries, healthcare, cultural centers, and higher education.

Designers who work with us benefit from direct interaction with LVCK Principals, as well as from BBB Partners and Principals, learning from individuals with decades of experience designing and implementing solutions for international nonprofits to transit agencies. We readily share our knowledge, design sensibilities, and tips for efficiency in file management and project management. We enjoy mentoring designers at different professional development stages as we continually learn through each collaboration.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with team members, clients, and design consultants to create detailed holistic strategies and drive designs from concept to completion.Develop concept sketches, signage detail drawings, signage programming, and document specifications.Participate in reviews and installs during the construction phases.Refine concepts into narratives and engage in client presentations that advance the project goals.Proactively identify and solve problems that arise and ensure successful outcomes for our clients.Collaborate with team members, clients, and design consultants to create detailed holistic strategies and drive designs from concept to completion.

Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

BA/BS in graphic designExcellent typography skills6+ years of experience in graphic design, EGD wayfinding and signage projectsAdvanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignKnowledge of SketchUp or 3D software (preferred).Experience designing for code – ADA, building, and fire codeExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong time management skills with the ability to follow up on and balance long- and short-term projects

This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. The salary is commensurate with experience and ability, ranging between $70,000 and $85,000 per annum, excluding bonuses and other benefits. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply by submitting a resume and portfolio.
