Role Description
As the
Head of UI/UX , you will lead the design strategy and execution across Halen's platform, ensuring seamless and engaging user experiences. This role involves collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business and user requirements into effective and intuitive designs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the UI/UX design process, from research and ideation through to prototyping and final execution.
Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to build user-centered designs and intuitive user interfaces.
Develop and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across all products.
Translate complex business requirements into simple and effective user flows and wireframes.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to inform design decisions.
Work closely with the front-end development team to implement UI specifications.
Participate in weekly meetings
(Wednesdays at 8pm EST) to ensure alignment on design and development objectives.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a UI/UX designer, with a portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
Strong understanding of modern design principles and responsive design.
Experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
Familiarity with front-end development principles, especially with CSS (TailwindCSS), and a willingness to collaborate with developers.
Strong analytical skills and an ability to interpret data to inform design decisions.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
A team player attitude with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
Must-Haves
Expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, and information architecture.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
Knowledge of accessibility best practices in web and app design.
Nice-to-Haves
Familiarity with front-end development tools such as AstroJS, Svelte, and TypeScript.
Experience with usability testing and user research.
Knowledge of AWS tools such as Lambda Functions and DynamoDB.
