Marketing & Communications Manager (College of Law)Position Title Marketing & Communications Manager (College of Law)Department College of LawStatus Full Time/ExemptJob Summary The Marketing and Communications Assistant Director will develop and execute marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives for the Jacksonville University College of Law. This is a highly collaborative role that will work in tandem with enrollment marketing and admissions, advancement, communication, and alumni engagement teams, as well as college leadership and faculty to raise the profile of the College of Law. This position is a member of the enrollment marketing team and participates in all team meetings, strategy sessions, and professional development with this group in addition to that presented in the College of Law and receives direction on that team from the Director of Enrollment Communications. This position will serve and support all marketing and communications efforts including, but not limited to email, public relations and news, digital marketing, print marketing, search engine optimization, website design, graphic design, inventory ordering and vendor relations/management, and management/selling of “swag” inventory.Supervisory Responsibilities

Admissions Communications

Serve as member of the enrollment marketing and admissions team representing the College of LawReceive direction and support from the Director of Enrollment CommunicationsSupport admissions with communication needs such as:

Plan enrollment marketing campaigns using social media, website updates, print pieces and other tools as time to time may be required by the enrollment marketing team or Director CommunicationsNew student email campaigns using leadsCurrent student email campaignsTransactional emails for current and future studentsDesigning, ordering and organizing materials for tables and eventsCollaborate on event planning needs

Public relations needs:

Press ReleasesMedia PitchesJU News Hub articlesMedia Interview assistancePublication in new media, local and otherwiseCreate and send monthly College of Law newsletter

Marketing Support

Plan marketing campaigns that use tactics such as:

Digital marketing (Examples include Facebook, Instagram, Search, Display, and Adroll)Website updates/new web page designsPrint pieces such as marketing booklets, fold-outs, flyers, and postcardsCity brand recognition including light post flags, billboards, and flyersAssistance with video projects such as student testimonial, new location coverage, event coverage, etc.

Social Media:

Plan and execute organic social media content on College of Law social channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTubeSupervise and approve work from Social Media and Marketing Student Worker

Advancement Initiatives

Create needed resources and/or donor proposals to help Major Gift Officer fundraise for the college

Write and create email campaignsDesign and write proposalsDesign and write PowerPoint decksWrite and design large-scale storytelling print pieces such as the "State of the College of Law" bookletCollaborate with editorial services on video projects including (scripts, scheduling etc.)

Assist with social media and other needs related to university-wide fundraising campaigns such as Dolphin Dash or Future MadeAssist with planning and marketing of College or University-wide volunteer opportunities including Charter Day or Pro Bono Month

Alumni Engagement

Email campaigns to keep the College of Law affinity group engagedCollaborate on event planning needs for this affinity group such as collateral, branding and logistics

Required Skills/Abilities

Be an excellent communicator who can draft and edit communications for multiple channels, including print, website, and social mediaHave a thorough understanding of digital marketing and communication principles and techniques, including advertising, SEO, and analyticsMaintain an expert-level of proficiency with digital and print content development and management toolsBe able to work collaboratively with all members of the University such as the Strategic Operations Division and faculty throughout the UniversitySocial media management tools expertise such as Falcon, Hootsuite or MeltwaterDigital marketing buying expertise such as advertising managersAdobe software such as Photoshop, InDesign and IllustratorEducation, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience

Minimum Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in closely related field such as marketing, communications, graphic design, or businessMinimum Work Experience:

Experience in the marketing, communications, and/or graphic design industry. Experience can include internships and career experience. At least one year of career versus internship experience is required.Physical Requirements Examples:Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required for this position.
