What you will do:

We are looking for team members with a strong understanding of architectural principles and practices, combined with creative design abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating architectural and engineering consultants, while demonstrating a keen eye for design and detail. A working knowledge of project delivery, construction documents, and building materials is important, but equally vital is the ability to transform concepts into thoughtful, innovative design solutions. The role requires the ability to interpret and present complex ideas in a clear, visually engaging way, and to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, project consultants, contractors, and clients to bring design visions to life.

The essential duties of an architect at G70 are generally listed below. The level of responsibility for each will be determined by the assigned title based on the candidate's experience.

Works collaboratively within a team setting on architectural projects.

Performs research, site visits, data collection, sketches, and renderings.

Prepares and supervises the preparation of preliminary studies, sketches, and renderings of buildings and structures.

Prepare and supervise the preparation of information regarding design, materials, color, and opinions of probable cost or construction time.

Participates in the selection of systems and equipment and their coordination with engineers of record.

Prepares and supervises the preparation of design drawings, working drawings and specifications for buildings.

Review plans for completeness and accuracy.

Reviews plans and specifications of buildings and other structures for compliance with zoning, building, plumbing, electrical, fire, and health regulations.

Confers with officials on requirements of projects; makes site surveys to obtain information and other requirements for projects.

Integrates engineering systems and components into a unified design.

Monitors building permit and LEED compliance process.

Check shop drawings for conformity in dimensions, materials, and design with contract plans and specifications.

Conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.

Respond to contractor-issued RFI’s.

Reviews for accuracy of contractor’s pay applications and change proposals.

Your Qualifications:

To perform successfully in this position, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties above in a satisfactory manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Title and compensation to be determined based on candidate experience.

Education/Experience

Qualified candidates must have a degree in architecture.

Licensed architect preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of license.

Minimum five years of professional experience in a design firm, seven years of professional experience preferred.

Experience with Revit, Bluebeam Revu and MS Office.

Preferred experience with State of Hawaii codes and industry standards.

Preferred experience in one or more of the following project types: commercial – office, education, hospitality, and/or multi-family residential.

We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, highly organized, and possess advanced communication skills, both written and oral. You should have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, collaborate effectively within a team environment, and contribute meaningfully to project success. Strong discretion, independent judgment, and a thorough understanding of architectural principles and practices are key.

The base salary range is estimated between $60,000 - $100,000+. Base salary and title to commensurate with experience. Bonuses and benefits are in addition to the base salary.
