The Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) Communications Lead is an exciting opportunity for the right person to work in Organizational Change Management (OCM). We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, can travel statewide, and enjoys working remotely with a new team of professionals. The Opportunity:In this role, you’ll support a major CCWIS project by functioning as a multifaceted communicator and an excellent writer who can organize and control an extensive communications campaign for DCYF, Tribal partners, external interested parties and community members/groups. This position plans, develops, controls, manages, and drafts communications and publications for an informational campaign as part of the OCM work for DCYF's CCWIS efforts.

Some of what you will get to do:

Plan, draft and coordinate the release of CCWIS communications as directed by the OCM Manager.

Support the development of project-specific communication, including email templates, subscriptions, distribution lists and messages.

Plan, coordinate, and direct the collection, preparation, and dissemination of all informational materials to the public, mass news media, internal staff, community groups, tribal partners, regulatory authorities, legislature, DCYF Executive staff, and interested/affected parties.

Manage the CCWIS OCM Communication Plan, Communication Matrix, Interested/Affected Parties Matrix and other CCWIS OCM communications products.

Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategic, as well as operational, plans for internal and external audiences.

Deliver high quality, creative and integrated content development creation for different audiences as part of the CCWIS OCM efforts.

Write and edit content for dissemination including publications, websites and/or social media.

Ensure content across all platforms is consistent, inclusive, culturally relevant and appropriate while also meeting all accessibility and usability requirements.

Lead and participate in both internal and public working groups to enhance, develop, amend or create CCWIS OCM Communication documents, tasks, matrixes or other content.

Develop content for virtual, in-person, DCYF office or community-based meetings and presentations.

Promote engagement in the CCWIS project through organizing and conducting meetings, workshops and seminars.

What we are looking for:Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years in public relations, strategic communication, journalism, community outreach, project management, or a related field.ORAssociates degree AND five (5) years of professional experience in public relations, strategic communication, journalism, community outreach, project management, or a related field.ORBachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, public relations, or related field AND three (3) years of professional experience in public relations, strategic communication, journalism, community outreach, project management or a related field.

Required Competencies:

Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to write for various audiences, including a racial equity and social justice view in communication products.

Demonstrated ability to lead and work in multi-disciplinary teams, including a drive for engaging in new initiatives.

Demonstrated ability to develop and publish positive stories.

Demonstrated ability to perform well under pressure and in crisis or emergency situations.

Demonstrated knowledge or proficiency of Organizational Change Management as it relates to IT project implementation.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of standard office equipment.

Demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, including SharePoint.

In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles.

Prosci Organizational Change Management Certification.

Previous experience working with Washington State agencies and local governments, juvenile rehabilitation, child welfare or educational/childcare advocacy organizations.

Demonstrated familiarity with family and child support organizations, opportunities and issues in Washington State.

Demonstrated basic knowledge of the organization and operation of Washington State public-sector legislative, political, educational and economic development organizations.
