Senior Manager, Public Relations
to support our Corporate Communications team and their efforts to strengthen the McGraw Hill brand. The Senior Manager, Public Relations serves an important role on the McGraw Hill (MH) Corporate Communications team by leading PR campaigns and communications efforts that support business goals and generate impactful earned media coverage of the company.You will play a critical role in supporting MH's corporate communications strategy as a go-to contact for reporters and producers, a strategic partner to leaders around the company, and a creative storyteller and writer who thinks like a journalist. You will work closely with marketing and communications stakeholders across MH, including our business unit marketing teams, senior executives who serve as thought leaders, and spokespeople for our brand.This role can work from a MH office or remotely from a home office in the United States, with travel 3-4 times per year for in-person strategic meetings. Candidates must permanently reside within the United States to be considered for this opportunity.A typical day might include:Supporting the development of PR campaigns and strategies that improve perception of the company as a digital leader in global education and build awareness of our products and services amongst key audiences.Developing and nurturing relationships with journalists and managing day-to-day interactions with them on behalf of MH.Writing and editing press communications, including press releases, media pitches and more.Leveraging media monitoring tools to measure and report on the impact of the team's work and progress toward meeting our goals.Developing talking points and briefing materials to help senior leaders prepare for interviews with media outlets.Staying on the pulse of what the media is covering and seeking out new opportunities and platforms to tell the MH story.Managing the distribution of daily media digests and weekly news rounds-ups for the Corporate Communications team and MH employees.You should apply if you have:Bachelor's degree and 6-8 years of work experience in communications, PR, or journalism.Must be an organized and detail-oriented project manager who has strong interest in the media, how it is evolving, and what reporters are covering. Experience working with top-tier media covering education is a plus.Must be comfortable and excited to interact with journalists and speak on behalf of the company.Comfortable interacting with and serving as a partner and coach to senior executives and other thought leaders around the organization, and as a strategist that can gain the trust of marketing and product leaders.An interest in identifying new ways to use data to inform and optimize PR strategies, measure performance and report on business impact.Excellent writing, communications, presentation and interpersonal skills.Ability to collaborate in a team environment, adapt to change, and problem solve independently.An entrepreneurial spirit - willing to seek out new ways to contribute and make an impactAre you ready for a new challenge?Apply for a career at McGraw Hill and together, we'll impact the world. The pay range for this position is between $95,000-$115,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
