24 Seven is partnering with a top global sportswear client to help them find a Senior Designer- Fixture and Environments for this hybrid and/or remote position in Portland, OR. This is a 3-6 month contract with part-time, varying hours with likelihood to extend.
Ideal Candidate: will have a bachelors degree in a related field as well as 8+ years of design experience preferably in the retail design industry/environments. Also someone who is proficient inSketchUp,Enscape, Adobe suite, Grasshopper, ACAD.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONIn this role you will refine and evolve the fixture and environmental design components across the full the brand's stores portfolio, you will be working across different project stages for interior spaces, with a focus on fixture design across multiple concepts. This position requires a forward thinking, detail oriented design minded creative, that builds from the global creative direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout projects. You will work independently and with a team to develop and manage all fixture and 3D environmental components, factoring in the needs of the Consumer, the Brand and Business partners. You will communicate and present design concepts to the Creative Director and create 3D models and details that effectively communicate design intent, as well as produce project production files when required.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHUnder the direction of a Design Director, you will collaborate in the development of innovative and original retail fixture programs that reflect the brand's design ethos and enhance the consumer retail experience. You will deliver thoughtful fixture design solutions that meet the business and creative requirements to elevate product storytelling and display needs as well as small-scale environmental moments such as Pop-ups. In this role, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the brand as well as external design partners, fabrication agencies, store design and marketing teams. You may travel 5 - 15% of the time.
WHAT YOU BRING• Bachelors degree in Architecture, industrial or product design and 8+ years design experience.• Retail design industry/environments experience preferred; retail environments, concepts and programs, fixture design• Comprehensive knowledge of design processes. Advanced knowledge of computer systems (SketchUp,Enscape, Adobe suite, Grasshopper, ACAD). After Effects, Twin Motion, etc. are a plus. Ability to sketch design ideas and visually communicate concept development thoughts ideation.• Knowledge and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general, and in furniture design, product innovation, fashion, and athletics specifically.• Strong oral and written communications skills including meeting facilitation and presentations. Strong ability to effectively communicate concepts/design intent to senior creative team. Fluent in presentation and collaboration tools (Keynote, Miro, Slack, etc.)• Ability to confidently screen and manage contractors/external vendors including design and production studios/agencies.• Ability to develop collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and geographies.• Workstream management• Team management and delegation
