Job Description

The Trulaske College of Business is seeking an experienced marketing and communications professional to direct the promotional efforts that advance the college's strategic priorities while staying true to the vision of leading the way in business education. This role will serve as the strategic marketing and communications leader for the college, playing a key role in positioning the College of Business as a market leader in the business education landscape. The Director of Marketing & Communications will be instrumental in creating the brand strategy for the college and empowering the college to expand its brand. The Director will work in tandem with Mizzou Marketing to enhance and expand the marketing reach of the Trulaske College of Business. This role will also oversee the production of multiple complex and detailed publications, the college's website, and assist with the preparation of accreditation materials in collaboration with faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Marketing and Communications:

Plan, develop, and distribute content that supports the college's strategic plan and key messaging, focusing on research impact, faculty, and student success. Integrate strategic marketing and communications through all levels of the college, including department-level communications, advising, recruiting, advancement, alumni relations, and other key areas of focus. This role will be instrumental in creating the brand strategy for the college and empowering the college to expand its brand.

Marketing Leader:

Lead the marketing efforts to position the College of Business in the market. Develop and implement marketing strategies that enhance the college's visibility and reputation.

Communications Leader:

Shape executive communications by serving as a communications subject matter expert and advisor for the dean, associate deans, chairs, and directors. Direct the team's development of key messaging, talking points, speeches, scripts, presentations, news articles, digital communications, social media, website content strategy, and digital media.

Public Relations:

Seek strategic opportunities to elevate the college's research and accomplishments. Create and maintain relationships with MU News and Information and Mizzou Social Media to maximize coverage of the college on a local, state, and national stage.

Supervision and Mentorship:

Supervise staff and student employees through goal-setting, evaluating priorities, managing deadlines, coaching, editing, and evaluating. Manage barriers, schedules, and priorities, as well as college assets. Guide projects for the team from start to finish using project management tools.

Branding:

Serve as the director of branding for the college. Maintain continuity in visuals, presentations, printed collateral, photography, and videography for the college. Align college branding with the university's overall branding guidelines.

Resourcing:

Strategically manage resources such as team talent, university services, and budget to meet the college's goals while monitoring new investment opportunities.

Shift

8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, nights and weekends as needed

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessaryPreferred Qualifications

Ten years of high-level marketing and communications experienceExperienced in the following areas:Media outreachSocial media - community/content managementDemonstrated ability to manage major projectsPersuasive writing (proposals, executive communication and/or press releases)Team leadershipBudget planning and/or management

Anticipated Hiring Range
