PRIMARY FUNCTIONWork with discipline leads and project manager on technology portion of mission critical projects to remain responsive, exceed client expectations, meet multi-disciplinary objectives, and adhere to project budget and schedule requirements Define project scope, develop ICT discipline workplan/manhour estimates, prepare designs for technology systems, and provide support during project construction administration phase.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Develop highly accurate, well-coordinated documents meeting or exceeding internal and external client expectations.
TYPICAL DUTIESDesign and support Information technology, electronic safety and security, and audio-visual system projects from planning stages to completion.Meeting with clients, conduct meetings, and lead projects.Observe BICSI, AVIXA, and ASIS standards and industry best practices in design and product utilization.Attend client meeting with project stakeholders, architects, and engineers to discuss project requirements, design concepts, and systems operations.Develop designs that meet client functional and budgetary requirements.Evaluate project managers schedules and deadlines to ensure they are realistic and attainable.Work closely with internal company disciplines providing design and pricing proposals, achieving full coordination from inception to project completion.Communicate known issues while offering solutions to owners, architects and coworkers.Review and provide input to cost estimates provided by others.Design the following systems:
Structured cablingPublic address/intercomDigital signageAccess control/intrusion detectionVideo surveillanceClock systems
Coordinate with manufactures and vendors on new and existing products.Qualify equipment required for custom integration solutions.Develop cabinet layouts, equipment rack elevations and jack-field layouts, etc.Provide continuous engineering support throughout the project.Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.JOB QUALIFICATIONSRegistered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) designation preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.Bachelor's degree preferred.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA, EIA/TIA BICSI, IEEE, ASIS, and AVIXA standards.Demonstrated knowledge of CSI format specifications.Data center design experience.Working knowledge of building automation systems and power management systems.Ability to work virtually and communicate efficiently across geographies with multiple project teams.Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate, achieve consensus, and provide guidance.Confident in client interviews and technical presentations.Experience with technical design tools such as Bluebeam, excel, etc.Revit experience is required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to sit for long periods of time.Ability to travel.Ability to climb ladders and conduct visual observation throughout all areas of building and construction sites.Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.#LI-RF1
