Primary Responsibility
Reporting to the Director of Development of the Colorado Mountain College Foundation and working in close partnership with the Vice President for Advancement & Foundation CEO, as well as the College Website Manager, this position supports the Advancement efforts of the college through the management and creation of communication materials for the CMC Foundation, and additionally provides data analytics regarding the success of communications. Specific tasks include content creation for the Foundation's fundraising appeals and community and alumni engagement efforts; inclusive of writing and coordinating efforts for the Foundation's websites, e-newsletters and social media; and includes extensive graphic design needs for print and electronic publications, and support for events. This position also serves as the backup for the College Website Manager.
Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)
Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in communications, marketing or web development, and three years of related experience in marketing, graphic design, or non-profit development/communications work event planning or training in web-related content management with demonstrated understanding of technical and communications skills and methods for the Internet; or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
Experience with Email Marketing Systems and/or Marketo, Ninja Forms, all Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, web development, and Web 2.0 practices, including ethical standards for social networking preferred. Demonstrated track record in creating exceptional messaging in a deadline-driven environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of a high-performing team with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to maintain discretion with confidential information about donors or potential donors.
Special Skills or abilities related to the position: expert knowledge of Adobe suite, WordPress, Content Management Systems and W3C Web standard, Desktop Publishing. Preferred candidates additionally have a strong working knowledge of standard web protocols and languages: html, CSS, and APIs. Proven understanding of web hosting, analytics, artificial intelligence and security standards. Must possess strong written and visual communications skills, including design and photo editing.

Hiring range = $67,718.26 - $75,242.51 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Under the direction of the Director of Development, activate differentiated fundraising materials for solicitations, campaigns, and events, including renewals, appeals, lapsed and acquisition mailings, and the annual Team Fund employee giving workplace giving campaign. In this role, oversee and coordinate the production and design of all collateral including but not limited to the following tasks:
1. Design, create and manage to budget all communication materials needed for the Foundation's and Alumni Association's fundraising and engagement appeals, inclusive of graphic design work needed and the addition of alternative (Alt) text to all images and graphics to ensure images can be read by screen reader software and indexed by search engines.Build, maintain and steward CMC Foundation's brand and awareness via myriad communication methods. Create materials for the Alumni Association and manage the website. Create and manage the Facebook alumni page and partner with Marketing to maximize engagement with CMC-associated LinkedIn accounts. Gather story ideas, generate, and edit graphics and content, and manage and distribute regular communications including "The Eagle" and the Alumni Newsletters, the Annual "Impact" Report to donors and the community. Establish and track analytics and reporting for all communications.Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM Act through the effective management of Foundation and college contact lists.Manage calendar for projects, monitor timelines and deadlines, collect and file deliverables and manage all internal and external approval processes. Create and help manage the shared calendars for the entire foundation.Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and vendors, to deliver efficient and on-budget production cyclesCoordinate delivery of samples and native files for historical record to archive appropriately.Input tags into the college digital asset management system (Mediagraph) to all photos for the foundation for use at the college and impact report.Manage Foundation SharePoint page using HTML code to create various sections.2. Collaborate regularly to provide communication and solicitation tools to support fundraising activities and acquisition initiatives. Track lists of potential donors for specific projects/events. and "bring to life" CMC Foundation's mission including:
CMC student, educator, donor, and alumni profilesStories of program/initiative outcomes and success3. Provide support for fundraising activities, college and community events including receptions, lectures, dinners, and alumni engagement around the CMC District. Support may include but is not limited to development of collateral, video and programmatic scripts, PowerPoint creations, and other marketing elements needed, provides event photography, photograph and video editing, in addition to general event support as needed.
4. Use desktop publishing for print and electronic media creation including but not limited to ads, posters, event invitations, solicitations, and email marketing.
5. Design the impact report (editorial design), video advertisements, and photo editing.
Other Duties as assigned.
Website Management
In close partnership with the CMC Website Manager, this position will manage designated projects that have Advancement team and/or collegewide marketing and communication impact annually. Examples include:
Co-design college brand refresh of website using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.Ensure accessibility (WC3) compliance to federal regulations for all Foundation and Alumni materials, and President communications. Provide, analysis, reporting and proposed plan creation and serve on collegewide implementation team to ensure collegewide compliance.Upgrade and maintain college "Because of You" website.Use analytics to create strategies to optimize web content for search engines and digital campaigns in support of college advancement goals.Respond to and troubleshoot all Foundation and Alumni website issues and serve as back up to College Website Manager.Create strategies to grow user base and web traffic metrics.Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures. Identify and respond to all website security breaches or risks.Update website technology, including themes, plugins and platform updates. Work with APIs.Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received
This position receives general direction from a senior level administrator.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position serves as a lead to other team members. This position may supervise work study students, support staff, or program related staff.
Special Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles record report will be required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. Travel, evening and weekends may be required at times.
Working Conditions
This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
